Everything here is closed on sunday at that time, so best bet is one of the taqueria datapoint or mama Margie’s locations. Las Palapas is a chain and solid too. They’re all better than the gringo slop in that picture.

I would go with La Fonda on 410 behind the Magic Time Machine (i.e., not the La Fonda on N. Main). And the walk over to the Mine Shaft for a drink after.

the "Mine Shaft"?  You're sending him to a gay bar, aren't you?

Wait.  Magic Time Machine is still a thing?  You've got to be shitting me!  If I go there and they're busy, can I head on over to UR Cooks instead?

Soluna and Paloma Blanca, both on Broadway have good enchiladas. I prefer different types but the cheese enchiladas are solid at both. The Chispa at Soluna is a great drink.

La Fonda Alamo Heights is a good option but the food quality is not as good as either Soluna or Paloma Blanca

No restaurant has ever closed in San Antonio.

Yes, it's still a thing and the food is horrible. The Mine Shaft is the bar in the back of the Magic Time Machine. It shares the back parking lot with La Fonda and has its own entrance. It's not a great bar by any stretch, but it ain't terrible either. It's always fun to throw back some beers while Captain Jack Sparrow or Dora the Explorer bring their table's drink orders over.

Soluna and Paloma Blanca are definitely better quality / higher end. If you want to go with chicken enchiladas with poblano cream sauce or something a little more exotic, then either of those are better calls for sure. But I think La Fonda as more of an old school tex mex cheese enchiladas, rice y beans place.
