Anybody that doesn't have me on ignore has seen me pimp Mike Campbell's book, "Heartbreaker".  It's the best one of these that I've ever read.

Meanwhile, after going down a YouTube rabbit hole, I've started the not-new book from Don Felder, "Heaven and Hell".  It's pretty interesting.  He was in a band in Gainesville when he was a teen, and, a new kid moved into town.  Somebody told Felder "this guy and play and sing, you should get him for your band.  His name is Stephen Stills".   And they were band mates for a couple of years, until Stills moved away one day without telling anyone.

Oh, and Don Henley is a complete fucking asshole.  Maybe the worst asshole in the history of assholes.

Speaking of assholes, I read this about 10 years ago.

I loved John Lennon as a kid, and this book tore up the illusions I built up in my head about one of my childhood heroes. I mean, he could be very kind at times, but often was a huge prick.

I'm  a HUGE Beatles guy, but yeah, Lennon was a cock.  I read Cynthia's book.

But goddammit, I still crank "Run for you life" when it comes on.

No that's Josh Hamilton. Henley would have to be 2nd on your list.

One of the best and funniest books I've ever read.

I read a lot of books that fit in this thread, but that's the one everyone should read.

I read that Tom Petty bio by Warren Zanes a couple of years back.  It kinda bugged me.  The information is great, but Zanes comes across as trying to be his college English prof.  (Understandable, I suppose, he has a PhD and teaches at NYU.)

i found conversations with tom petty to be much better than the zanes book. the zanes book had the heroin reveal but that's about it.

shakey is a great neil young book.
