So we can skip past the "you're a pussy, what a bitch" comments. Just answer honestly.

If Arch Manning or Colin Simmons tears their ACL in a bowl game that causes them to miss most of (if not all)  2026 is the juice worth the squeeze? All to say "we beat Michigan"

Cancel spring and fall camp.

Forfeit all games.

Potential crisis averted.

Yeah what’s the point of risk anyway

Let's test this theory. Without looking (I know you'll cheat) who won the citrus bowl last year?

I don't know who won any of the bowls.

Hell, what bowls did we play in? I know we beat ASU and lost to tOSU. I have no idea which bowl games those were.

Without looking, who were all the cfp teams last year, which teams played which bowl game and who won each game?

Irrelevant. We know football got played.

Peach and Cotton!

We needed that Peach Bowl win to collect all of the NY6 bowls, like Thanos

Bobby said he’s hearing Burke won’t play in this game. Sounds like he may have been playing through some bumps and bruises down the stretch.

I am 100% on board with this. I want the guys leaving to enjoy a trip to Disney world and have some popcorn on the sideline during the game. I want to see all the players expected to contribute in 2026 on the field. I would not tell the guys leaving not to play, but I am not going to persuade them to suit up. This is basically a 2026 preseason game in my eyes.

Yeah but what’s the point of them playing. Cheeze it trophy?

Because they’re being paid to play in it. These are now young professionals. Prove you’re worth it.

The full quote:

Steve Sarkisian on the effect ND opting out of its bowl game can have on college football: "I don't know about the ripple effect for everybody. We all have goals and aspirations of winning conference championships and winning national championships, at least we do. But I also think there's an experience factor in all this, there's a growth in all this. There's development in all this. There's camaraderie. There's so much that goes into this that sometimes a bowl game is about celebrating a season and finishing a season the right way."

Exactly. Non-playoff bowl games are a celebration of everything you accomplished during the season. Time to go out to...um...*googles Citrus Bowl*...Orlando and party. Check out Disney World I don't know. Then play a game against Michigan.

I don't really see the point of skipping the bowl game.

These games are so lose lose now.

Stars don’t want to play risking injury for nothing. If backups show out, they are immediate portal risks.

they should tie nil payouts and bonuses to bowl game participation and wins, like they do for the coaching staff.

Arch needs to play more games. Every game he gets more confident. If he gets injured well he gets injured. That's football.

And if Simmons gets hurt well at least it happened in December.

Nobody who needs to worry about the draft or an imminent pro career will be playing.

And heck maybe some of our returning starters who are resting injuries might not play either. It is a chance to see who our starters for next year will be.

I'm glad we're playing in this game. I'd rather have 3 more weeks of buy in from these guys before the portal opens. ND on the other hand has 100 dudes sitting around for a month trying to decide whether to stay or go.

School gets paid, keeps expense reimbursement, splits the rest with SEC. Some (all?) coaches get incentive, maybe. Is there an extra payday for players? If so, do opt-outs get paid or nah?
