The biased fake news liberal media would be reporting this. Fox hasn't said a word about it. Don't believe the MSM. Sad! Unfairr!

Does make you wonder if other companies legal departments want them to stay mum.

Hannity still tweeting about Mueller stuff, but he has this little disclaimer in his profile: "Due to hackings, no DM’s!"

Looking around, it's gotten some recent coverage in the past 24 hours (Variety, NY Magazine, USA Today, etc.), but they are still acting like it's the Tucker Carlson thing.  At the same time, they are asking Fox News's PR people and getting nothing back.  That is fucking odd as hell.  Not even a simple "twitter was irresponsible".

So three things:

  1. No announcement that they were going dark.  If people don't know you're protesting, your protest doesn't matter much.
  2. Fox News won't release any current statements to the media
  3. Murdoch (News Corp. owner) and Thompson (News Corp CEO) met with Mitch McConnell a few hours before Fox News went dark on twitter.

Lou Dobbs is in crazy old man (but mostly harmless) territory and probably told them to fuck off.   Sean Hannity's account is probably controlled by his personal company or whatever (that runs his radio and website stuff), but he is less antagonistic on twitter.

Hannity bringing the heat today.  A self owning both sider whataboutism involving Hillary Clinton.

Out of context, Hannity would be right here. But Hillary was not overseeing her own election like Kemp is.

Tuesday was a red-letter day for Fox News: The launch of Fox Nation, its new subscription streaming service designed to appeal to the most obsessed Fox News fans.

And yet, armed with a Twitter feed capable of reaching 18.3 million followers, the network did not tweet a single thing about the launch.

In fact, Fox News hasn’t tweeted since Nov. 8, when it began a silent protest against Twitter after a group of demonstrators posted star host Tucker Carlson’s home address on the social network.

Quote

“Twitter is not really consequential to the actual business of [Fox] or News Corp in any meaningful way, so not sure it matters one way or the other,” emailed Raju Narisetti, a Columbia Journalism School professor who previously served as a senior vice president at Murdoch’s News Corp company, as well as CEO of Gizmodo Media Group. “It is a good megaphone and helpful for breaking news discovery and some brand building but not sure any major media company thinks of its use/non-use as a major revenue issue per se.”

Still, people close to the network say they thought Fox’s silence would have ended by now, particularly with the Fox Nation launch. And nobody — including some buzzing Fox News staffers — seems to know how the standoff will end.

“Talking and confused,” is how one Fox News employee described the mood among staff.

While some hosts, including Carlson, also stopped tweeting, others, including his primetime colleagues Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, have continued. Business Insider reported after the boycott began that a high-level Fox News editor emailed digital staff asking them not to tweet Fox News links from their personal or digital accounts “until further notice.”

James O'Keefe banned from Twitter. O'Keefe is the Project Veritas head. He has announced he is now suing for defamation. @TwiceHorn to the courtesy phone please.

The spokesperson cited Twitter’s platform manipulation and spam rules, which prohibit users from running fake accounts and using multiple accounts to “artificially amplify or disrupt conversations,” though the company did not point to a specific infraction.

I wonder if Stephen Miller's new legal outfit is going to be put to use....

James O'Keefe is probably one of those people who believes the government shouldn't tell a bakery that they have to bake a cake for a gay couple, but that the government should tell twitter to take him back.

He had to pay the plaintiff in a defamation suit brought against him, IIRC, but this time with him getting a woman to catfish the CNN tech director through Tinder or whatever dating app it was and tape it was pretty stupid but that isn't why Twitter banned him. I don't know if he had the fake accounts, but it was definitely amplified and this is being amplified as well. Twitter still has a problem with that similar to Facebook. I half wondered if this was also a ploy to begin laying the groundwork for Trump's little media rollout that he said was going to happen. If people are disgusted with Twitter then they jump to Trumpernet or whatever it will be called.

I don't know why he is saying they 'defamed' him though.

Trump supporters will still come back to twitter, because they'll get bored if it's only Trump supporters.  As much as they love echo chambers to reinforce their beliefs, they can't "educate" everybody else if they aren't on twitter or FB.

Also, O'Keefe may not want Twitter to put his shit on blast. Twitter didn't randomly ban him, they probably put a lot of resources into figuring out all of the socks/bots/etc.

Well, truth is an absolute defense to defamation and if Twitter said he had sock accounts, I tend to believe them.
