    New motto?
  6. Don't be a Dick
  7. Wasn't COTA originally subsidized by our tax dollars? Any member of the general public should be able to plunk down $20 at the gate, sign a liability waiver, and drive their leaky 'ol '79 Trans Am around COTA until the wheels come off. Really though, I'm tired of hearing "take it to the track" when there aren't many road course tracks that actually allow amateur racing without a lot of money and red tape.
  8. Y’all are crazy. The dorm scene was pretty damned funny.
  9. Does he have a brother?
  10. Neto committed to UNT
  11. I’ve sadly only been there once for a day hike, but it was in late May and glorious. Saw a moose and plenty of elk. Animals are still at low altitude at that time, so I think it’s an underrated time. Enjoy!
  12. I followed you a few years later and caught the tail of end of affordable Austin. I could work for a summer and pay housing for the year, work study paid bills, groceries and tuition. Amazing time. Edit: And because it's the Tech thread, can Tech really claim to be in the playoffs if they didn't score a point? I mean, sure, there was cheering involved and there's a box score that shows a game was played, but do they now cast in bronze or frame the check stub?
  13. his $87 mil contract is 90% guaranteed
  14. Portal has definitely changed things, and watching how OL management moves forward will be interesting. Under the now old HS recruit model, you needed what, 15-18 OL on the roster knowing that some will take time to develop and some will never make it? Now, you might be able to get by with 10-12 knowing you can restock with experience in the portal.
  15. I didn’t stand on the sidelines in ‘24. I think most people I know would have a hard time voting D but his bombast is hurtling them to do just that. I’ve already been there, but am still shocked by everything he’s done in still fewer than 12 months.
  16. I think most figured Cruz/Neto were gone and that was already factored in. It sounds like they want two more starters on the offensive line even if one is a tackle.
  17. Nope, not one of ours. Was hoping I might get a chance to see it in the flesh, but I do applaud using railcar graffiti to send political messages like that, but I applaud well done railcar graffiti in general.
  18. Strong arming Fed Chairs isn’t new. LBJ and Nixon famously did it. But they didn’t federally/criminally investigate their adversaries because they wouldn’t lower interest rates. This guy is the most overt crook thug to have ever had this office, and I had an inkling of his character in ‘16, yet am continually shocked by the havoc he wreaks on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. If we did what you propose, the market probably wouldn’t be that affected. Lower rates are great but they’d be counterbalanced by lack of credit card funding available and the fact that we are moving closer to dictatorship. The consumer with credit would enjoy lower rates, but be subject to a middling market, and then rising inflation that would really get out of control for the next president (if we have another one) in ‘28. And whomever that is, most assuredly a Democrat, would be lambasted by a decrepit Trump until he dies, when his actions alone caused it.
  19. The turning of the calendar into the new year has seemingly shifted about two gears higher, feels like break neck speed and the steering wheel is barely attached.
  20. Question Patricio, and you've prolly answered already, but do you always ask to photo someone or do you shoot from the hip? I've got a buddy that subscribes to the philosophy of it's easier to ask forgiveness than for permission. Seems rather dickish, but I've lost quite a few really cool images because I didn't want to intrude. I take the metro some, and there are scenes and characters that are amazing. How much are people usually content with if it's a few bucks? I may start carrying singles or fivers again.
