Hey congrats man! Happy for you.

the difference with gyorkores is undeniable. what’s tough right now is finding how to fit eze and odegaard together, as we did seem to be more dynamic and dangerous when odegaard was out and eze was playing his position. of course trossard was also starting then, as were saliba and gabriel and timber (😭😭😭), so it really is difficult to even say exactly why our attack is or isn’t better than it was a month ago. christ, we’re so injured that a post about how gyorkores opens up space for the wingers turned into a diatribe about our injury crisis. shit is inescapable.

Like, maybe she's sitting on a sofa and they're all standing around behind her or something? -
Awesome news, MIA! Super happy for you. Holy shit, gnarly indeed!

We aren’t so high and mighty about it though We only bemoan the portal use by JE when it doesn’t work out - Carlson mostly, but also Wenaas. We’ve also lost players, such as Sun, Parra, Singletary. Works both ways Texas fans fully embrace what Skinner, Fleck, SKT, Barnes and Stafford have meant to us. Throw in Bergmark and Gary too

Ah yes, the fabled national championship of the B12. That one has a special section on the wall. -
If you can get Wilson, you get him.

Religious victories are pretty easy. You just need to rush to create a religion early on. From there, focus on building up as many religious points per turn as possible. From there, you pick policies that help bolster religious combatand extra conversion turns, and then each turn, just buy new missionaries and then send them to convert each other civ's capitals and cities that also generate missionaries. This will prevent them from countering you. When they complain, you just ignore their complaints.

Our incoming transfers have been AAs too so it’s just high talent moving around looking for fit and probably money.

McMurtry in the Gallery last night. Damn good as always with a decent range across his 35+ years of albums, although a little heavier than usual from the last 3. Heading to NYC tomorrow for LCD Soundsystem and other shenanigans.

What's crazy to me is how high and mighty Nebraska fans get about not relying on the portal. Not only do they have Landfair, who they swooped in at the last minute to outbid Wisconsin, but they also have Baylor's Sczech, who they brought in to be a potential starter on the right side but is a luxury coming off the bench for the Cornhuskers. Also, like Texas, Nebraska tends to have their first pick among high school players, so they don't have to rely on the portal the way programs like SMU and ASU do. I've posted it before, but Texas is about to have a former player be a 1st team All American for the fourth year in a row. Two years with Fields, one year with Parra, and now Carlson. The truth is every top program other than Stanford relies on the portal to some degree. You'd be idiotic in running a program if you didn't.

So true. 2X National Latin Exam gold medal here prior to college, and in 5th semester of college Latin what I learned was that I was actually terrible at Latin.
-
So I was a terrible student at Baylor and really only paid attention to the history classes that were interesting to me. Well to get a BA you had to have 4 semesters of a foreign language and I was supposedly 2 semesters and a summer from graduation with only a single D in Portuguese to my name. Turns out you can take two semesters of two different dead languages to count as a foreign language. I took a fall and a spring of Latin and then needed two semesters of Classical Greek in one month to graduate over the summer. Intensive Classical Greek from 8-1 five days a week was the worst academic experience of my life. I never want to hear the terms nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, or vocative ever again.

I’m well aware of Texas fans’ expectations. And many of us had our hopes up we’d sneak in and make the playoffs but we didn’t There should be some nuance here - everything kept going wrong for us - Arch needed 4-5 weeks to get comfortable, our OL/run game wasn’t good, we had injuries at bad times. We still finish 9-3, beat all our rivals and are going to the highest tier non-CFP bowl BUT - We can still have fun and enjoy the bowl ride. And then hop into the expectations coaster again in August.
