  2. Yet doing a lot of work there. I kid, I kid. I'm glad you handle the logistics, and I just come and drink and eat.

Just having some fun. I think it'll be much closer than you do, but of course we'll get to find out for real in a couple of weeks. I also agree y'all got jobbed on the 3 perma-rivals, if what has been published is true. That sucks for y'all. Hopefully the 4-year look-in will turn out better for you.

I'm not on X and don't really follow the sports journalists. But Chris Low is a reasonable source. Maybe not.

ESPN is reporting it as well: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46346164/sec-football-slate-feature-3-repeat-opponents-next-4-seasons
  7. 270 feet of fencing cracks me up
  8. We're looking at that one on Avalon in either 2026 or 27. Goes from Amsterdam to Lucerne, Switzerland. To your point, there are maybe 100 or so people on the ship and not 2,500. We got to be regular friends with some of the people and it was very low key.
  9. They've been killing Americans since 1967
  10. I might note that Covid came at a very bad time for the US. Society was already fracturing as "us vs them" and Covid amplified that (hence multiplication not addition in my equation above). We were fucked up due to social, political and racial issues, Covid drove us further into our silos and the results are where we are now.
  11. I'm making fun of myself with a joke we've made here about me being Klubnik's father, since I'm always singing his praises. The joke's on me 'cause I gloated all off-season to his detractors here and this season has been an unmitigated disaster. He has regressed and has seriously damaged his pro stock, if he had any.

Yes, I know. I guess we can trust an On 3 "journalist"? I don't follow Chris Low (@clowfb) on X
  13. I predicted 85-77 before the season started… a 1-8 finish to the season to hit that would be such a kick to the nuts

Uhhhh No. By participating in the coin toss and NOT forfeiting the HORNS will get the W. The defense can't carry the Gata and at some point those players will start making business decisions. As I told Canes fans that wanted to talk shit before the game... "relax man, you guys are going to win. You're going to have a great time"
  15. Sorry for the shitty driving thread derail. Didn't we used to have a shitty driving specific thread in Lulz?
  16. Micah would not make a difference on this shit defense. He'd be 5 yards behind the QB on most plays anyway. Yes, it's coaching, which goes back to Jerry, because the only person willing to take the job was some scrub on staff that was on nobody else's radar even though he has a famous last name. No young innovative coach with options will ever work for Jerry, period.

I mean, I know the Horns haven't lit it up so far this season, but you really think y'all are gonna whip us THAT badly?
  22. I don't understand the fascination with Starlink as the end all be all. Don't get me wrong - they are a very solid ISP. But that's it - they are an ISP. If I have any real terrestrial high-speed alternative, I will use that instead of Starlink. Sure they are going to dominate a lot of the market for airlines etc. But the way everyone talks , they make it sound as if they are going to be used by everyone and that just won't be the case. Plus he is going to face competition in this market. I just see them as one among many.
  23. You want the worst collection of DBs in the sport being put in man most of the time? Are you not satisfied with the amount of explosive plays they give up now and want much more? There's nothing anyone can do with a defense that is the worst in the game at the back end and gets the lowest amount of pressure up front. Just look at their drafts and free agency on defense. It's horrible, and the one guy they hit on they traded.
  24. Sounds like someone doesn't Texas enough.
  25. Uh, yeah. You can find highlights. That defense is legit. It's a bit mind-warping to watch people in Tech uniforms play defense like that. Your brain doesn't believe what your eyes are seeing. They are fast, attack the ball en masse, maintain excellent gap integrity, and get to the QB quicker than any school in the country so far this year. The interior D-line is solid mass, and the edge rushers are probably the most dangerous combination in college football. The linebackers are seasoned, smart, and hit hard. They look like a top-ten defense based on their front seven alone, and they have a lot of depth in those positions. Their secondary has still not been tested, really, but the pressure from the front seven makes their job a lot easier. The offense is another story, though. The starting QB is the weakest link, mostly due the slowest reads I've ever seen in a senior QB, and I think he'll cost them a couple of games this year. He's not bad at all, he's just not that good either. A pro-style offense that relies less on the QB would likely suit him better. Tech might make the playoffs, but that QB will limit how far they advance. I would be surprised if they make it out of the first round unless the backup gets more playing time and develops into the starter by then. That kid is raw but has a much higher ceiling.
