Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah [Crazy Person]
chainsaw replied to msbesq's topic in Cloak Room
Like you've been saying for years, @Brisketexan, we're already at civil war and only one side is acting like it. The past two days have been nothing but a reminder that its only okay when they inflict violence on the others, such as civilians sitting in a fishing boat. Performative empathy for me, vitrol and mockery for thee. Only one side gets to fight here. That's how they want it. -

He should play a montage of Kirk's greatest hits- we should accept our levels of deaths due to gun violence, blacks are intellectually inferior, etc...- on the Jumbotron if MAGA truly believe he's someone who should be revered. -

How much time will Fox spend covering this, as opposed to say Biden eating ice cream? I would say the ice cream gets 10000x the coverage. On what millions of people call "the news". -
maybe its offset to clear the bolt action? I've never seen on like that. Also could contribute to hitting the right side of the target, which I believe is where Kirk was hit?

Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)
Skipper replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
I don't really care either way. But I would prefer ND not take a playoff spot generally. Both because we may be fighting for an at large and because fundamentally, I think it's bullshit that ND don't play in a conference, has a soft schedule and will get rewarded with 100% of the playoff $$ they earn instead sharing. So F ND. As for Aggy, I never want nice things for them but I have no real concern they are going to be a force in conference play regardless of outcome. But I'll be pretty surprised if ND doesn't win this. I haven't read much from the ND perspective but I'm guessing they appreciate the narrative that the playoffs are on the line and play like it. -
Week Three CFB Preview: Start Up the Meat Grinder

We were with friends who went to WVU and they were dressed up in WVU gear, so we didn't get anything besides the light-hearted stuff from others. For all of the "Morgantown is a lot of fun!" that I've read on the boards over the years, I didn't really get it. We black car-ed to and from Pittsburgh, so maybe we missed part of the charm by not staying there, but we tailgated and went to some famous local haunts for food and drinks. Went to the school bookstore, etc. It was all fine, but I didn't find anything extraordinary about the place. They were also very docile after getting pummeled. -

Always has been gif. Hunter would tell you it was Nixon's election. He's probably right, given how much damage has been done since then and that Nixon was never truly punished (a theme that resonates throughout the years). Reagan another one. Bush senior did a ton of damage. Both of those were during my lifetime but I wasn't politically astute enough to know that the boiling pot was cranking up. Only in retrospect do I start to comprehend the damage done. As I became more politically aware, I was like Charlie Brown trying to kick that football. Surely everyone will see through W, right? Right? And that for me was the point of no return--W's second win. That he could be re-elected with all we knew at the time. That was my personal revelation that nothing was ever going to get better. I don't have Brisket's ledge routine, and its a good one, but I've been on the 'doomed' train for some time. For a hot minute Bernie kind of drew me back in, and then the machine reminded me that was dumb to be hopeful. I also very much remember the first time Trump was elected posting that this country will never recover. Hmm. Now just deciding (fantasizing) whether I retire to Mexico or Southeast Asia or..... -

he probably has a claim to it. Brings up a fascinating question. Would you(the royal you) turn your own son in? Frankly I probably couldn't do that. just horrible to think about.

Deep down they knew from the beginning it was one of their own, which is why the immediate focus on people "celebrating a family man's death" as the true villians of the story -
It's a little long for a new motto, but it's worth a try.

Season 4 was announced yesterday morning Goyer initially outlined an 8-season plan, but he is leaving the day-to-day after this season, mostly due to the stress of being away from his family across the Atlantic to do this - they film all throughout Europe. So whether Apple and the new writer's room sticks to the plan or not, this is at least going 4

Interesting scope set up. Assuming it got dropped from the roof.

I'm am sure she is a legitimate enrolled student. But this is about genuine tolerance, not about how Leonard Leo and the Federalist society are running circles around liberals on issues like this. Lets get back on topic and talk about how video games and helicopter moms are hurting education. Not some strategic legal/political framework for social issues setup by the boot-licking MAGA morons who can't read books. Regarding the lawsuit... It would have been filed by the student (and still may be) if Texas A&M didn't do what Leo wanted. They would determine the best legal venues to pursue this (Texas, district, circuit, etc..) before they selected student, school, etc.... They wanted this issue to play out and be decided in the courts for the future. Can an EO control what is taught in universities (i don't know if this was the exact objective). Sorry, off topic, lets get back to young people tolerance.....
