There is right wing populism - where they pretend to be something they're not. Trump, for example. And it's distinct from left wing usage, ie Bernie Sanders and AOC. And that's why you're wrong in a nutshell. But whatever.
-
Prop 12 passing tells you all you need to know about how stupid the average voter is. I did not see one positive endorsement of that proposition and it still passed 60-40.
-
Virginia is by far the best barometer to look at from the places that voted. My sole hesitation is how you measure the effect of mass layoffs, contractor job losses, and overall anger in the NCR and project that out to states less affected by federal government actions. Likely same trend but not as stark. I think it’s pretty axiomatic that Trump overperforms when he’s on the ballot and GOP underperforms when he’s not. Bodes well for 2028. They admitted as much with the gereymandering ploy.

I'm telling you - put a wig on that man and he could pass as his sister Those facial genes are STRONG

Texas really held their own for 35 minutes but the superior talent of Duke absolutely took over at the end. As most people expected. And we won't face many teams with the perimeter defense of Duke - Scheyer is a really good defensive coach. You can tell this team hasn't had a chance to learn to play together and chemistry isn't there yet. The goal is to continue to get better over the course of the non-conf and into SEC play.
-
So, this team is trending the right way and anyone at all who looked at the vandy game knows that Texas is for real. You cannot keep acting like vandy scored a legitimate 31. It was garbage time TD and it was 29 at best including that without all the ref fuckery on a clear failed conversion. They scored the last TD with 30s left to not lose by 11. This wasn't a close game against a vandy team that was getting a lot of love. A big part of that is Texas looked like a dominant team. The first quarter they looked like the best team in the country easily.

How proud he must be that the food sellin’ places adopted his word so quickly.

He also says that you give ID at a gas station. A man of the people. He has never touched a gas pump in his life
-
Anastasis getting upset because a poster came in with inscrutable, vaguely accusatory personal questions orthogonal to the discussions at hand.
-
You’d think the guy that coined the term “groceries” would know how grocery stores work. Fucking idiot.
-
There's been some good 1st couple day action (UConn-Louisville, Tennessee-NCST, Duke-Baylor), but there's not a lot the rest of the week Friday - Texas hosts #24 Richmond in their first ranked non-conf matchup of the season. Richmond is one of the top non-P4 teams Sunday - UConn hosts Florida State and NCST and Southern Cal go at it in the only ranked on ranked matchups of the day

The bouncer at Central Market has never asked to see my ID when I’ve gone in the past

This picture may create a future Texas proposition to say that not only do you have to be a citizen to vote, you must be a human. After all, we don't know who trained that cat to vote for Marxist ideas and candidates.

Pam Cummings replied to Mitch Cumsteen's topic in Basketball
So SA is about to be a utopia then -
I wonder how many Texans really thought that they were preventing illegal immigrants from voting in future elections with that one prop. I bet quite a few Texans were slightly pissed because they stupidly assume that those same immigrants were probably voting no to the proposition. The low intelligence of Texans always come out in the referendums.

That certainly looks like we're at a Turning Point here in the USA.

So, again, they can't. They are even more broke than usual. Their AD was very specific this summer about the need to cut expenses at every sport and that most likely involves having to rework existing contracts. Apparently glorifying the fact that your school is full of people who need 4 years to master "put seed in ground, then pick plant" or "use pipe move liquid somewhere else" doesn't result in a deep donor base, instead they have a bunch of "graduates" who really should have gone to trade schools. That just can't sustain the level of giving they now think is normal. Keep in mind - their biggest current donor was a guy with the amazing vision to see that people driving in cars might need gas at some point. That's some cerebral stuff right there.
