Texas gave the proposal the old “yeah, sure, we’d be open to that” while trying to get the early exit deal done. Shortly thereafter, it became clear that that wouldn’t help any part of the early exit deal. As well, Tech was politicking with the state legislature to work their way into the PUF. They trying to align a bunch of Baylor and UH people to get themselves in with the “let’s stick it to the bastards” notion. Once all that was known and shut down, it’s since become Texas’ desire to give Tech the UH treatment in almost all sports. Is this a serious post? You think removing pettiness makes CFB more fun? Dark, bitter pettiness towards our enemies is a big part of the enjoyment we derive from college sports.

You didn't do what I asked and thus you convinced me you don't know (posting a meme doesn't count). I'll be brief here: Market Rate - a developer has a site, raises money based on expected demand, hires engineers and architects to design for it, hires construction company to build it, leases up and either holds onto it or sells it, Affordable Housing - same as above but some of the money comes from the sale of tax credits or direct investment from the government. There are strings attached, typically either age-restricted or income restricted where residents have to make a certain percentage less than a average county income but enough to pay the rent. Frankly, it's a genius program for a lot of reasons I can point out to anyone interested, Public Housing -- AFAIK we don't build this anymore but there are still lots of them around (it's been replaced by the success of Affordable Housing). Don't confuse this with Section 8, which relates to rent funding for qualified individuals for existing housing. It doesn't build anything new. As stated earlier Rent Control goes back a long way. It helps people stay in their homes when a new landlord buys their building and would love to kick them out and make a huge profit. What kind of asshole would do this? You guessed it: Now I'll ask you an easy question: have you been to NYC lately?

That report makes the most sense out of the ones posted here. The offense sucks at first but got batter as the practice went on sounds realistic. I always said watching Clark's HS film he looks like he has a bit of Bijan in him. I think he can be a big contributor catching the ball in the open field. -

It is no surprise the OL struggled. They are down a critical player, they’ve lost a lot of talent from last year’s team, and at times last year even that very good OL talent struggled at times. It’s got to be the biggest question mark going into the season, and frankly it’s probably the difference between winning it all or not. I hope they can get it going. One thing I noticed is that the heights of the OL seem plenty tall. While I’m sure there’s a lot of height inflation going on, if it is a big line maybe they perform better as the year progresses. -

The criticisms are no different and it’s not like they would be if he was running for a national office. Don’t kid yourself. This lot that I referred to in that post you quoted isn’t nearly that nuanced

I'm not, but it was absurd enough to indicate that it might be a joke. I looked up the guy and says he's with Good Bull Hunting. The Aggie Onion. -
Y’all realize Mamdani isn’t running for Mayor of America, right? Local issues are local. Jesus.

She called Trump “Cankles McTaco tits”…. Hahahaha i think I’m in love

He’s going to win. He’s the best option. That doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it, and since I currently pay more for my daughter’s half of a 600sf 4th floor walk up on the Lower East Side than I do for my mortgage in Austin, I have skin in this game. What you don’t understand, apparently, is that the entire Mamdani phenomenon IS the status quo of Housing in NYC, repackaged for TikTok. Promise to defend it either way, please. I know you guys are watching the details super closely. I mean look at this: Bravo- this is a super relevant point of comparison. So Mamdani is the opposite of Trumpism? So the tide turns here? Do I have that right? Does that mean NYC is a microcosm of America? Great stuff. You should be on Joy Reid’s podcast or something. Time. We lose time to deal with the housing shortage in New York. I’m not sure what you lose. Probably nothing. But that’s the American Progressive in a nutshell: the privilege to fail without consequence.

Given that so much occurred yesterday, I think a solid recap by position is in order. But first the injury updates. Both Cole Brevard and Nick Brooks went down with injuries during the scrimmage. Brevard later returned to the scrimmage. Brooks did not. But was later seen without any ice, crutches, etc., while walking with a slight limp. Tight end Emaree Winston did not participate in the scrimmage. He injured his shoulder earlier in the week and is expected out for a couple of months. Wide receiver Emmett Mosley V did not participate in the contact portion of practice but was suited out on sidelines. He is nursing a lower leg injury. Quarterbacks - Arch Manning was overwhelmed by the Texas defensive front on the first two drives of the scrimmage. The whole offense was. Manning finally got things rolling on the third possession, and proceeded to have a workman-like afternoon. I am told the offense looked better as the scrimmage wore on. Manning had a couple of completions to both Ryan Wingo and Parker Livingstone that were impressive. - Trey Owens led the 2s. Not much was said about the redshirt freshman. (And I don’t take that as good or bad.) - KJ Lacey had one of the superb throws of the day, a touchdown toss to Daylan McCutcheon over Kade Phillips. One onlooker described Lacey’s ability to keep his head up while scrambling as something very rare. Lacey continues to impress. - Matthew Caldwell performed reasonably well while running with the 4th team offense. He had a couple of passes batted at the line but otherwise operated efficiently and effectively. He was certainly not seeing the level of pressure that Manning and Owens faced. Running backs - Welcome back, CJ Baxter! Baxter got the first hand off of the scrimmage. Even though he was stuffed, he continued working with the first unit alongside Tre Wisner. Baxter primarily worked inside and moved the pile in short yardage. But he wasn’t always successful in doing so. Wisner continues to add smart weight to his frame and looked good. - If there was a revelation of sorts at RB, it’s the scrimmage Christian Clark had with the 2s and 3s. Clark’s ability to start, stop, then redirect is probably the best on the team. If he keeps performing like he did on Saturday, he will have a bigger role on this team than some expect. Wide receivers - DeAndre Moore, Wingo and Livingstone were the first three in the game. As mentioned above, both Wingo and Livingstone made good catches downfield. Wingo scored three times on the day. Perhaps the best was a 35-yard play from Manning. Livingstone continues to impress. He is consistent and is finding ways to get open and then making the defense pay. - McCutcheon had several catches, including the TD on rhythm from Lacey. - Kaliq Lockett saw action with the 1s late in the scrimmage. - Michael Terry made a stabbing one-handed grab in 7v7 work prior to the scrimmage. Tight ends - Jack Endries and Spencer Shannon were the two starters in the first half of the scrimmage. - Jordan Washington and Endries started the second half of scrimmage. - Nick Townsend made a couple of plays in the latter part of scrimmage. - But Washington was the one who had the biggest impact on the scrimmage with his catch-and-run ability. Offensive line - When Brooks went down, Jackson Christian moved to second team right tackle. Brooks had been working exclusively at right tackle during the scrimmage as a back-up to Brandon Baker. - Nate Kibble was second team right guard. - The OL was beaten multiple times in the early going of the scrimmage, in both the run and pass games. They played better as the scrimmage wore on. Defensive line - Good notes on Colin Simmons, Brad Spence and Ethan Burke. All of them effected the QB at times on Saturday. - Alex January and Brevard were the two starting DTs in the first half. In the second half, it was Maraad Watson and January. - January made one of the stops of the day, denying CJ Baxter at the goalline. - Also heard positive reviews on Travis Shaw. Linebackers - Anthony Hill played sparingly. Liona Lefau started alongside him. - Ty’Anthony Smith had an early sack and showed why Steve Sarkisian has been so high on him. - In probably the best news at the position, Trey Moore looked good at off-ball linebacker. Secondary - Starters were Jelani McDonald and Derrick Williams at safety, Michael Taaffe at nickel and Jaylon Guilbeau and Manny Muhammad at corner. - Kobe Black was the first corner off the bench and mixed in heavily with the 1s. - McDonald and Taaffe rotated at nickel. Wardell Mack and Graceson Littleton also saw action there. - Xavier Filsaime’s name came up. He had a one-on-one stop of Wisner. After a good spring and summer, Filsaime appears to be moving forward in the secondary. Specialists - Will Stone did not have a good day. Mason Shipley was better but not perfect. - Punter Jack Bouwmeester received praise from multiple folks in attendance. - DeAndre Moore (1st) and Ryan Niblett (2nd) returned punts. Wisner (deep guy) and Niblett returned kicks. ** Other notes - Texas apparently held out some players for portions of the second half. Anthony Hill, Colin Simmons, Tre Wisner, Trevor Goosby among them. - The OL needs to step up over the next couple of weeks. - The pass rush, as expected, should be a MAJOR, team strength. Not only is Simmons freaky good off the edge, but Spence is speedy and tough. We also know what Anthony Hill, Ethan Burke and Colton Vasek can bring. Add in Ty’Anthony Smith, and it’s a unit that can come at you in so many different ways. - Not the best day from Arch Manning. But not the worst either. - Be aware of Christian Clark. He could give the team a real lift. So could Ty’Anthony Smith. - January, Watson, Shaw and Brevard have asserted themselves into the DT rotation. -
