For the people who listed the cons of offensive play calling, I have to seriously ask what you mean. This was 99% execution. Receivers were schemed open on just about every play. The passing plays in the red zone offered high percentage options and had the pass that got broken up been thrown on time it's an easy TD and we're praising Sark here

I thought I read PK isn’t a flight risk. He’s not looking for the HC position.

Baxter off tackle left is a TD. Arch reads the D and goes off guard left it’s a TD too.

Madueke keeps fucking with Kerkez and Kerkez does not seem amused
-
Yep. A high school qb could’ve done better than that. Arch had the yips.

To that end, anyone else surprised to see Baxter on kickoff returns? That was a huge wtf moment for me and it was the first play of the game. If only I knew what was to follow... Random things I'd like to see over the next 3 weeks: We joked about not needing a FG kicker because we were only scoring TDs all Offseason, but can we get at least an idea of how good our transfer kicker is/ where his limitations are. We'll need to know later in the season. Starting LG. I'm not buying that moving Neto to LT opened Flood and other coaches eyes to Stroh's progression. Stroh looked fine yesterday, but besides Baker's false starts, most OL problems I saw were on the left side. More rotation in the RB room. Did Clark or Gibson even see the field yesterday? We need to keep Wisner and Baxter fresh for the season ahead. Tre Moore. Where was he at? It seemed like we kept 5 DBs out there all game, even though there were plenty of plays where the offense had less than 3 receivers on the field. Groupings of DT. Aside from the Tate TD, the defense overall played great yesterday. Still, I thought we would've put more pressure on Sayin than we did. Osu had a tough time running the ball, maybe figuring out the best combinations of tackles that will complement each other will help in pass rush. No more designed QB runs. Like, seriously, what in the ever living fuck? When he was first hired, Sark said his running game is for the RBs, not the QB. I didn't mind the goal line call, if it had been in 12 personnel and not over the middle. But there seemed to have been plays that weren't just Arch scrambling. -

And it's never one bite! It's like 4-5 bites every time. Everybody knows the rules and he doesn't even follow them ffs!!!

Yes, I agree for the next three games against the tomato cans. Get Arch game reps throwing the basics and build up his confidence. I was thinking more about the SEC schedule and playoffs if we get there. We should be working towards an offense whose identity is running the ball and not putting the whole game on Arch’s shoulders. We have a great defense and punter, some very good RB’s, and a solid o-line. Arch doesn’t need to be Superman.

"well they voted us in didn't they??"

Defense and promising early play from the OLine gives this team a really high floor. QB play (I think it will come around) and redzone play calling (I am about to give up) will determine its ceiling once again.

Yeah it was really jarring. It's not like Ewers where they looked bad from day 1 and just kind of never got fixed. I have never seen Arch's feet die or throw sidearmed like he did yesterday. Issues with timing, decision making, sure. Seen that before and expected more of the same. Standard young QB stuff. Chernobyl-level meltdown with loss of physical ability to throw a football for three full quarters? That was one of the stranger things I've ever seen on a football field.

The criticism of Sark is just laughable, and prove that if a coach starts listening to the fans, he will soon be sitting with them. OSU's weakness is DL depth. The game plan was to run right at them with some sideline to sideline to wear them out in the first half, keep the score close, then loosen it up in the second half and win in the 4th quarter against a tired D. It would have worked with a QB that was an average college passer. Two concerns that are both personnel related: 1. The QB is inaccurate and has poor touch on the ball; 2. the inability to punch it in within the 5 yard line. They are related, because if the QB is not a threat to throw when the field in compressed near the goal, then the D can stack the box for the run

Pretty low line. They must have no faith in our ability to score in bunches. We're going to pad stats in this game.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, it was ONE GAME. Sark has been fucking up red zone trips FOR YEARS. Obviously, the right answer is that they both have to do better. But I'm afraid that one of them isn't capable of it. And I'm a Sark fan. But this Achilles heel of his can fuck up absolutely everything. It is a way bigger deal than several misfires from a green starting QB in the toughest game of his young life. Fuck, this is ridiculous.

I wish I could find an embeddable clip because this is off the opening kickoff. The team that scores doesn't even have a touch. You can see it all here: https://www.threads.com/@nsanalloyd/post/DN9-TGHDgOa?xmt=AQF0Tr9AWwbGv9gcvIQE3slskfo6OQnsvOPqE9tbktDNxA

Not all that familiar with PK, but I've seen his product and it's legit. Makes sense to me that after this year, someone is going to throw even bigger money at him to become a head coach. Will we be able to continue what he's started here? At this level??? Will we still get the same quality of defensive recruits or will they be following him to wherever? You'd like to think we can keep it going at this high level but there are no guarantees - unless... PK stays on as HC. He hires a DC and then guess what, we finally get an OC.. A better option would be Sark getting an OC and then if PK leaves, get a DC, but I'm not convinced Sark will ever get an OC, and I think that's a worse option than PK as HC with a high profile up and coming OC. Those may well be our two options at the end of the season. I get the feeling Sark is not spending enough time with his QB. That cross field throw on fourth and three took the cake. The kid shoulda known better. The fucking QB keepers up the middle instead of an RPO? How fucking lazy was that call? How lazy was it that we haven't practiced that situation thirty times during the off season? Give me Arch and a sprint to the far sideline flag. How long are we going to watch these Sark busts against good teams? Or am I wrong about all this and PK's not going anywhere?

So far of the signings Zubimendi is a huge upgrade over Partey, Madueke a legit threat at backup RW, Mosquera solid. Given he midfield, Gyokeres lack of activity today was a given. Ready for Eze.

Pros: We can now run both IZ and OZ effectively. Maybe its the new interior OL, maybe the threat of Arch running, maybe its just the OSU was worried about how well we ran OZ last year, but whatever the reason, we can now run IZ. Endries was not as much of a liability as a blocker as people tried to make him be. Very happy with him and he may become a safety blanket for Arch. Bouwmeester is a MASSIVE improvement Cons: Last year Sideshow Bob ruined Sark's belief in kicking a FG and we may never kick one again Mosley being out makes our youth and lack of experience at WR obvious and allows better secondaries to gang up on Wingo and jam/disrupt the routes of the younger WRs. Moore was not effective.
