They absolutely wanted this to go away. 💯 It has that mayor of Amity in Jaws feel to all of this. And Amity, as you know means friendship and they will be open for the 4th of July gosh damnit all to hell. 🦈 -

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: They Can't Keep Getting Away With This

I'm with you on this. I'm no lawyer, but I don't see how this is going to stand up in court. Unless there is some sort of collective bargaining agreement with the players, this is some sort of restraint of trade bullshit. -
Car dealerships that call you multiple times with offers of upgrades or trade in quotes just because I got my oil changed. No I don't want to buy a new car. I just needed a damn oil change

The "Interview Room podcast" crew are upset with how involved the University of Idaho was during the entire investigation from the beginning.... One guy said the University was allowed way too much access and he was concerned that the killer might be connected to the University -- terrible protocol during the investigation. University also oversaw teardown of house. The panel was also frustrated that the prosecution asked for the gag order to stay in place -- lots of commentary about how this prosecution did a terrible job throughout the last 2 1/2 years. Feels like folks in Idaho just want this thing to go away quickly since they haven't tried many death penalty cases -- hell they might have been scared the prosecution might screw up and lose this case. -

Bataan death march comparison is pretty wild

I'm confused. The house settelment puts a cap on what the schools themselves can pay, but I thought NIL was still uncapped. How does putting a cap on NIL jibe with the unanimous Alston SCOTUS decision? Here is what ChatGPT told me...is this wrong? What the House settlement caps: Schools that opt into the settlement will be allowed to pay current Division I athletes directly from school revenue—up to an annual cap. That cap starts at $20.5 million per school for the 2025‑26 academic year and is expected to increase by about 4% annually over the next decade (potentially reaching around $33 million) uscannenbergmedia.com+15cbssports.com+156abc.com+15. What they didn’t cap: third‑party NIL deals Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) money that athletes receive from third-party sources—such as individual endorsement deals, collectives, or boosters—is not counted against the school’s revenue-sharing cap. These deals remain unlimited in terms of the amount, as long as they reflect fair market value and serve a valid business purpose -

Also BK was allowed to wear suit like attire today because until he accepted the plea deal and changed his plea to guilty he was cloaked in the presumption of innocence. Now that he has accepted the deal he will be in the orange jumpsuit for the July 23-24th sentencing hearing. No longer will he have the presumption of innocence. also all families will remain under the gag order they have been under the past two plus years regarding BK and the case. Once the sentencing hearing concludes they will be free to say how they feel about the case and Bk and so on. -

A lawyer for Maddie Morgan’s family read a statement to reporters outside the courthouse while they were standing behind him. They wholeheartedly support and accept the plea deal. Maddie’s family also conveyed their sympathy to the families of murdered firefighters and for the pain any parents who have lost a child feel. The family of Maddie Morgan wrote they understand there are some who do not support the plea but hope that those who do not support it will at least respect their decision. this has been an awful chapter in their lives and they wish to move towards healing and turn the page toward a new chapter. They thanked everyone for all the support and kindness they have received and for people and the media respecting their privacy. -

South Carolina in basketball is like OU in softball….a hump that’s hard to get over…but when you do….results can be great. -
I generally agree with this. I decided to be generous and give them OL mainly because I was more impressed with Hinzmann down the stretch as their returner than I have been with DJ Campbell as ours (although I obviously watched a lot more DJ and am overly critical of our players) and I truthfully know very little about their other OL. Goosby was more impressive than either of them in his limited stretch now that I'm thinking about it, but it's so hard to project either unit given all the turnover. At RB, I don't view Wisner as materially better than Donaldson, who I expect to be healthy week 1. I'm not counting Baxter as I don't expect him to contribute at the start of the season and I truly wouldn't care one way or the other if you swapped Gibson and Peoples on our roster, so RB depth washes out for me. At QB, you're probably right. I'm sky high on Manning and would bet on him as the better player, but they purport to be very high on Sayin. Good point on the extra year in the system. I just have a hard time making any kind of judgment when I haven't seen the other QB play. Fair on the secondary as well, I think I'm so scarred from Downs' performance in the Cotton Bowl that it completely blinds me. I think Atkinson would be nice depth on our roster, but if you have NC aspirations and he's your feature pass rusher... not great. Overall, I'd be far more concerned about defensive line and LB if I were them than I am about anything on our roster.
