Game Week Thread 2025 Game Week 6: RRS Texas v OU

I don't know, I think the biggest issue with the Texas football team is that our offensive line wouldn't pass for average in the Mountain West Conference. -

We played our first p4 opponent since week 1 and the defense looked overrated. That was our ace in the hole against OU or any team. Let's hope when a loose football is on the ground our guys can fall onto it next time. That would be a nice start.

JFC. This board is so dramatic after a loss.

I mean, it's pretty fucked up when this is your model for a modern society. Just add new labels, substituting billionaire oligarchs (family dynasties of legacy industries and techlords) for the lords and a police state for the knights (currently growing and undergoing an overhaul) to keep the rest of us in line. Among the peasantry, separate the merchant class (nominally citizens with some limited rights, but still peasants...errr middle class, where most of us on this board reside). The pricks-on-high figured out a clever way to make the racist, useful idoits feel special and consequential, even as their rights dwindle, because they now have serfs (you know, "those people") gaze down upon and feel better than. This is where the propaganda comes in handy: "That foreigner is trying to take your cookie, mate!"; "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." Serfs and slaves are below all the rest, with very few or no rights. <= This is the reemergence of a class that technically should've been abolished in 1865, but the pricks-on-high keep trying to bring it back: sharecroppers, miners living in company towns, terrified undocumented workers out in the fields, in the kitchens, and at the construction sites. -
Maybe I’m just overly optimistic. But I think we win with or without Mateer playing. Moreso than anything because we are favored and the public is hammering OU. Vegas knows something (I think)

Southern CA Fires- Extreme Santa Ana Winds

"The brush fire was suppressed by fire crews but continued to smolder underground before high wind caused it to surface and spread nearly a week later, "causing what became known as the Palisades Fire, one of the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles City history," acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said during a press conference on Wednesday. Rinderknecht has been charged by criminal complaint with destruction of property by means of fire. He was arrested on Tuesday near his residence in Florida and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Orlando federal court on Wednesday, officials said." How are you gonna hold someone responsible for a fire that firefighters put out a week before it reignited? -

Have you not watched a single Game? theres legit fear in the eyes of these guy Ohio state and Florida showed us both times they were afraid. Malaised slow lethargic and generally didn’t care. That isn’t gonna change in 3 days. I’ll be this team has practiced in shorts and T shirts twice since the game with zero accountability. Zero strategy. First play of the game will be a run off the guard stuffed for a loss and 2 sacks and a punt

We are gonna get destroyed. Will our offense get more than 10 points?

Conan can be kind of a grind though too. He interrupts a lot and doesn't just let his guests tell a story. I like him but some of his interviews are a pain.

fyi, abbott shit canned the faculty senate ... The UT faculty senate was replaced in August 2025with new advisory bodies by UT Austin and the UT System in response to Texas Senate Bill 37, which transferred academic decision-making power away from faculty to university leadership. The new structure includes a <President's Faculty Advisory Board and a Faculty Advisory Cohort, which will serve solely in an advisory capacity, with no final decision-making authority. Impact of SB 37 Reduced Faculty Autonomy: Faculty senates historically had the power to make decisions on issues such as course offerings and faculty hiring, but SB 37 has eliminated this power. Shift in Authority: Decision-making authority now rests with the university president and the UT System regents, rather than the faculty.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal
sidis replied to Bozo_Casanova's topic in Cloak Room
that is a bit of an irony on this shutdown. any success the dems have on this is ultimately doing the republicans a huge favor of protecting them from the consequences of their own terrible policy. the shrewder political move would be to just stand back and let the meltdown transpire and when all the rural white trash realize it was them that the new law completely turbofucks, it would strain even the most obscene obfuscation to try and blame a law that trump wanted and the republican majorities passed in bipartisan fashion to lay it at the feet of democrats. let them live with the consequences of their votes. but trying to keep people from becoming bankrupt/dying because they need to see a doctor is getting in the way of that whole thing.
