  4. Not that I agree with the parking, but that lot looks totally empty, so I probably would let him live.

  9. Bobby Burton Posted 38 minutes ago Today is an appetizer. Tomorrow is the meal. Today, we get to speak with Texas coaches, from all of the coordinators to the newly minted assistants, and all of those in between. ** Tomorrow, we get a first look at the 2025 Longhorns. Here are some pre-camp thoughts: - I’m betting long on Christian Clark. Something about the young runner tells me he could be a real factor this year. - I like Parker Livingstone and Emmett Mosley. A lot. Folks who discount either of them, or think they are necessarily a rung down from DeAndre Moore and Ryan Wingo, do so at their own peril IMO. I think Texas has a very, very strong first four. - I think DJ Campbell has turned a mental corner. He will be an elite player in 2025. - I also think there’s a real chance for a slight upset somewhere along the offensive line in fall camp. Someone we think is going to start may get passed or beat out. - I get the feeling Emaree Winston is going to find himself in the TE rotation, somehow, some way. His blend of athleticism, toughness and ease of catching the ball on the move is much rarer than his recruiting ranking would suggest. I’m not making the exact comparison here, but there is some Bo Scaife in Winston. - Likewise, Graceson Littleton will play this season. I don’t know how or when, but the buzz behind the true freshman is too loud to ignore. Could he leapfrog someone talented during fall camp? Or, more likely, will he see some game action early and then work his way into more snaps as the season progresses? - If you want a prediction for a breakout player on defense, I’m going with Colton Vasek. If he can stay healthy, he will effect the game as a strong-side end, especially against run-heavy teams. - Based on special teams workouts, I’m told that we should expect punter Jack Bouwmeester to be a difference maker. ** Gerry and I were asked yesterday about who would “get off the bus first” for the Longhorns. I decided to make a list longer than just one name, because, frankly, the Horns have a number of players who look different than the regular guy at multiple positions. - Travis Shaw - Trevor Goosby - Nick Brooks - Lance Jackson - Justus Terry - Anthony Hill - Jelani McDonald - Colin Simmons - Jonah Williams - Nate Kibble - Alex January - Maraad Watson - Emmett Mosley - Arch Manning - Zina Umeozulu - Ryan Wingo bobby calling out @closetojumping
  10. Definitely the best race of his career. Qualified well, good stops, good fuel mileage strategy, good driving, didn't get collected in any bullshit wrecks all day, held off everyone's loverboy Larson to take it. I think he would have eventually overtaken Logano, but it also helped he blew tire or whatever as well.
  11. It’s not deficit reduction, it’s tax cut budget space. Or something catchier. If we had a functioning opposition party they would flood the zone with sound bites about everything being geared for billionaire enrichment at the expense of the rest of us.
  12. The North End Regina Pizzaria fits that bill and kicks all kinds of ass.
  13. "Anal Plate" - dibs on new band and/or user name!
  14. What are these?
  15. Watched him many afternoon summer days on WGN growing up. sucks....RIP
  16. Disgruntled employee?
  17. Sad to hear that Brix is closing. Last day will be August 17.
  18. So Trump, via Lutnick, is proposing a patent tax based on their value for deficit reduction. https://ipwatchdog.com/2025/07/28/purported-plan-charge-patent-owners-percentage-patent-value-fraught-peril/id=190705/ As patent blogger Prof. Dennis Crouch says "trading innovation policy for deficit reduction." First, an infinitesimally small percentage of patents generate revenue and even then valuation is a hazardous proposition and not something USPTO or Department of Commerce is well-positioned to do. Just idiocy.
  19. Apple fritter says take your cake donut with you to the bathroom when you squat when you pee.
  20. to win you money by throwing first pitches into the ground?
  21. You and I make eggs exactly the same but I will go a hit higher on heat and just scrape and flip the eggs gently and a bit more often. I’m told in no uncertain terms to make breakfast tacos on the weekends, I have no other choice or options. recently I’ve moved from butter to flavorless avocado oil for health reasons, I think the butter ones taste better but not by much, a quality egg, modestly salted and properly scrambled has a rich yet delicate flavor that can stand alone.
  22. @Armybrat has lived a long and storied life
  23. Temple of Doom and Gremlins were definitely catalysts for the PG13 rating, but folks often leave 16 Candles out of the discussion. I decided to watch the film with my oldest when he turned 16 (a while back) and totally forgot about the shower nudity at the very beginning. Not to mention specific sexual references throughout. In my "research" I found that the MPAA first rated in R and John Hughes lobbied for a PG rating.
