  2. I would absolutely, 1000% rather hold that shitty paper menu than have to scroll all the way through an equally shitty and buggy interface to get the full scope of a menu. Separately but relatedly, if you're a restaurant that offers carry out but you don't have a paper menu I can keep with the other menus in the junk drawer because "the menu is online" then your food better be really fucking good for me to want to deal with that shit - especially when ordering for more than 2-3 people. Finally, I hate how goddamn difficult it is to just peruse a menu online. I don't want to start an order, etc., etc.
  3. Shouldn't these be a lot smaller? And sold in sets of 6 or 8 or whatever?
  4. Yeah, you know the sport is in a bad place when even Bristol sucks. I didn't watch any of the races live during March Madness (and conference tournaments) so I have been slowly making my way through Martinsville when I eat my lunch home alone. Really glad that the producers chose to deliberately showcase these two characters/creatures. Not a word of acknowledgement from the booth, either.
  5. 3-10 don't even belong in the discussion. Take 5 and Whatchamacallit (sp?) do though.
  6. This is surprisingly fun and catchy.
  7. Living alone in a dumpy apartment complex the year after undergrad, I passed out with a Hungry Man pot pie in the oven (one of those gigantic things that requires an hour or more in the oven - terrible drunk food, obviously) and awoke hours later to my apartment not exactly filling with smoke, but definitely containing smoke. I turned off the oven, opened the doors and windows, and got ready for work. When leaving, I placed the cooled and remarkably solid and hefty carbonized disc on the porch chair of my downstairs neighbors, the same miscreants I had been up all night drinking with. When I came home that evening, I discovered the used-to-be pot pie had been bolted to my steel front door with a sizeable metal screw driven right through the center. Good times.
  8. JNCO - from when the pants were gigantic and the wheels barely larger than bearing-sized.
  9. I'm going to miss this occasional glimpse into unreality.
  10. Fuck with the settings on his chair.
  11. Like a raccoon in a trap.
  12. All the interpersonal drama, general bullshit, and Walking Dead-like decision-making wasn't quite what I was hoping for. They seem to have ample electricity if Ellie is using it for a desktop lava lamp. Are we supposed to remember who Eugene is?
  13. Sound like you're due.
  14. Real recognize real.

  16. I guess that may depend (at least in part) on the life insurance policy.
  17. House could have been full of fertilizer and whatnot.
  18. Perhaps this was addressed early on, but are you married/partnered? If so, what does your better half think about all this?
  19. 1, but only because those rotten, miserable, deplorable cunts at Klondike discontinued the Choco Taco.
  20. This is the first really nice weekend of weather in the Chicago area, so yesterday I took the cover and battery tender off the Skylark, gave it a once-over, put the top down, and found myself a nice place to grab lunch an hour away. Saw far fewer people obviously out for their first nice drive in a weekend car than I expected, and far more convertibles with their tops up than I should have. If you didn't have your top down yesterday (I'm talking specifically to you, slow-driving Boxster lady) then you bought the wrong car. Considered putting this in the Trivial Annoyances thread, but figured this would better reach the appropriate audience. But I did see a cute young lady (think Bridget Fonda in Jackie Brown) purposefully driving a tastefully modified and well-maintained A80 Supra. The guy in the passenger seat looked like the happiest man in the world, and he probably is....
  21. I think in your case, that's probably a Hail Satan bird.
  22. Yeah. I am not ready to quit on this show or anything, and in some weird way, I think the messy incomprehensibility of the plotlines is part of its appeal, but the finale was a bit slapdash. Still like this show quite a bit, but wouldn't argue the issue with anyone who disagrees.
  23. I'm looking forward to hearing how it is perfectly representative of any given 15-hour period at your workplace. ~~~~~ Yeah, angry stepkid was the worst element of the show. Even at his introduction, the way everyone tried to clandestinely give him rubbers was a little weird and awkward, and it only got worse. I agree that most of the casting (particularly for the lesser roles) was very good.
  24. I'm always down for a little snoo snoo - do you have any of that?
