  1. I should've added the simple "Nope" as one of my occasional answers... unfortunately, I am such a positive-minded guy that I only described the reluctantly affirmative responses. Alhtough, to your question, my immediate response would probably be "With you? Nah, but I'll take pics if you pay for the film..."
  2. You left out "money-grubbing" and "who hire lawyers with the same attitudes".
  3. "You wanna...?" or "Would you like to...?" Really it's not so much the question as it is the response to my answer. On some occasions, that's "yes" or "sure, why not?" Most of the time, though, I go with "Do I want to? No. Will I? Yes." If the original question came from a person of the male persuasion, it's all good, and away we go. But with the female, for some reason that triggers a discussion about why not? Pointing out that I said yes invariably fails to close the discussion. Fuck me. It's pretty trivial - but damn, it can be annoying.
  4. It only takes a single AwwwwShit to wipe out a thousand AttaBoys.
  5. Yeah, fuck a bucketful of "bless you". I ride with "gesundheit"... soundness over blessedness.
  6. Very close to home, it hits. I believe I had the pleasure of meeting her mother on the Upper Deck of a stretched KLM 747-200 a number of years ago.
  7. Prolly will after a truck rolls on it.
  8. My neighbor came over and asked to borrow a gallon of water. He said his water got shut off because he couldn't pay his water bill.
  9. You've spelt "death" incorrectly.
  10. Don't think we drank from strangers' hoses - mainly because there weren't any strangers as such nearby... also don't recall stopping for a slurp on the way to or from the ball field unless someone was watering, and we'd ask for a drink or he'd offer one if we were all hot and sweaty. Any place not fenced was free game for passage.
  11. That game was handed to the Tigahs by the refs. Watching that, it became apparent that the main difference with XII reffing is that we aren't the only ones getting fucked. On the bright side, even when it is us, it's not about some irrational hatred.
  12. I had a nice drink of hose water yesterday. It was nice and cold... the air temp was 88.
  13. It's my understanding that Dickson was uhhhh inveigled to Austin with possibly less than fully compliant mechanisms. Before NIL was a common designation, but it should be scrupulously proper today. NIL sounds do much more professional than "bag", don't you think?
  14. CSB: Miz Long's parents were both late kids, and both their parents were likewise. Her paternal grandfather was literally the proverbial Civil War Little Drummer Boy, at age twelve. His mother - a feisty, determined woman - found out where he was, and took him back, at gunpoint.
  15. Thames/Cherwell >>> Cam, but bridge > ford.
  16. He wasn't wrong, either. It really is just a ride.
  17. How about we quit recruiting 17-year old high-schoolers to punt, and go back to NILling 30-year-old Aussie Rules Footballers from Pro Kick Australia? That game has a premium on accurate direction and distance, ability to kick on the run, to either side, and/or running over people when appropriate.
  18. +rep Need that clip of ref calling that out. This is Surly, y'all get on it.
  19. Awards are, as has been said here multiple times, nothing more than attaboys. Their intended usage is nothing more than creation of discourse to keep the public tuned in and watching advertisements. It is important to note that even a thousand attaboys are negated by a single aw-shit. Awards such as this one are essentis]ally little more than participation ribbons, especially in the context of the orgasams of leadup blather for the Grande Finale. Really, the League should hold a ceremony with multi-level platform for Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and perhaps Genuine Imitation Leather medal winners. Choosing anyone other than Mahomes as "most valuable" is ludicrous. Without Patrick at Quarterback, the Kansas City Chiefs are a very average team. Although, to be fair, the same could surely be said of most teams including Buffalo and Baltimore. Anyway, congratulations to you who are the medalists. Your handlers will be in touch regarding your required appearances in 30-second morality plays ostensibly selling insurance, telephone service, alcoholic beverages, fast food, and drugs. Other goods and services may apply. malkovitchpaythatmanhismoney.jpg
  20. Kinda sorta, yeah. Like I said earlier, it seems possible (not saying probable, but...) that the right rehab system could turn his life around. Maybe not, but it would be sweet to see.
  21. "Injured" player sits out the drive is one of mine from the 2019 LSU bullshit. Wrinkles to this include visit with Sideline Doc to approve return, and/or sitting out the quarter, or X minutes of game clock. Players would have to leave the field immediately, only emergency treatment on the field and player experiencing the emergency is disqualified from further participation. Limited number of personnel allowed on field, no sideline gathering for coaching - or whatever - while in "injury time", no coaches onto field for the same. You want to coach 'em up? Call a timeout, Coach. On the other hand, visiting teams would be allowed to bring their own HVAC repairmen. Oh, and if a ref is going to stand over the ball and not let the play start, then the play clock stops and either restarts or goes back to 25 when D subs are in. Under this, the game clock doesn't run when the ball is not ready.
  22. Music major didn't know to require NDA from all employees and contractors.
  23. Duh. The only question is whether the N of the NIL is enough, and whether the lawyers have to argue about Arch versus Arches.
  24. Trust the Science. Hopefully this doesn't double up... it was "saving" a moment ago and 504'ed itself.
  25. HA! it did double itself. Small borkage.
