  1. Adidas is Adolf Dassler, Puma is his brother Rudolf Dassler. FWIW, back in the day, I liked the Pumas better for field sports like Rugby.
  2. You've spelt "whine" incorrectly.
  3. Hence the expression, "Hung like a sheep"?
  4. This is not a "holy shit". This is a "Hellllll FUCKING NO!!!!!"
  5. The package costs more than the batteries in it.
  6. Dammit! I have no idea if that's unpopular or not. But I agree.

    Getting old sucks

Bing Crosby said it better than that.

    Getting old sucks

Friend of mine, a Navajo Horseman (not to be confused with BoJack) told me that "ya ah tay" which is frequently said to mean" "It's a good day to die" actually means "All (is) good" and you're supposed to point to your heart and wave out with your palm down. He had another one, but I don't recall the words, that means "It is a good day to live, it is a good day to die."

To quote - or at least paraphrase - Paul Newman's character in Hombre: "Every body dies, it's just a matter of when and where. Right here, right now are good as any."
  10. Wänkel rotary engine eats up the seals (basically same function as piston rings). Miz Long back in the 70's (I think) had a Mazda station wagon with the engine, and the seals had to be replaced at about 10,000 miles. But holy shit that little motherfucker was fast and smooth, accelerated like a rocket. If they ever get the seals figured out, I'd put that engine in my truck. EDIT Won't let the bold be turned off... whatever. Shoulda just spelled it "Vaynkel".
  11. Yeah, but you'd have to field dress him. You go first.
  12. ...and Squints' dad was a reserve QB on all four of them. Also remarkable. Not to mention the fifth one for him.
  13. It's bad for they guy who doesn't get a bye, isn't it?
  14. We ain't come here to play Academics. We come here to play football.
  15. Haven't watched yet, but is it true that the City Crest of Buffalo is a pair of Crossed Kielbasa on a Field of Snow littered with beer cans?
  16. They tried Sark passed, as did Mike Norvell. That was the scuttlebutt via backdoor channels. Tell us more about these backdoor channels. Asking for friend neighbor relative aggy.
  17. True. But only if you leave out "helpful".
  18. Anything that could be introduced with "hold my beer, bro" is definitely lol.
  19. I assumed Nick would have a suggestion for his successor. I figgered he'd take a shot at getting Sark, and at least one early report mentioned that Sark was the first call and first "Honored, but no, thanks".
  20. "Cavapoo" is beyond stupid as a dog-breed name. Clearly better would be "Spoodle", which is also a pretty decent band name.
  21. Man got forearms and wrists like that needs to have a sleeve-cuff tailor. No disrespect for the defunct.
  22. When a credit card receipt needs my signature, I scrawl "Richard M. Nixon". When I started, it took probably ten years before anyone noticed - or at least, said something about it. Went kinda like: "Sir, you signed Richard Nixon here." "Yes, yes I did." "You need to write your name, sir." "No, I need to write my signature. That's my signature." "Sir, that's Nixon's signature." "Actually, Nixon is dead. He doesn't have a signature anymore, so it's mine, now." "Uhhh ..."

Confirmed. I've often said I suffered (and I do mean suffered) through 17 consecutive years of at least one teenager in the house. I know you heard there would be no math, but realize that means a lot of years of little kids, too. Probably went through a few thousand Legos, and I reckon I trod on one (or more) in the dark at least a hundred times. I still have a scar on the bottom of my left foot, just at the back edge of the arch. I think it was a guy with a sword.
  24. It's more literary than that, along the lines of "The Whiteness of the Boys". Think Montgomery Clift and Liz Taylor.
