  1. When Ricky’s original agent (Master P’s brother in law?) signed him to that extremely shitty contract with the Saints, he was in the wedding dress with Ditka on the SI cover, smoked way too much weed, etc. he caught a lot of shit on hornfans, of all places. Weird because everyone knows what the consequences of discouraging words used to be there. Anyway I posted something defending him which I’m sure was very eloquent and a poster purporting to be his mom thanked me, asked for my mailing address and sent me these autographed bad boys… The return address checked out. Wish I’d have saved the handwritten envelope. Very nice lady
  2. The Great Escape just started. If you release sheep into a new pasture they’ll all make a beeline to the tallest grass. You release goats and they first investigate the perimeter fence. When they arrive at the prison camp everybody heads to the bunks except McQueen, James Garner, Charlie Bronson and a couple of others. Hadn’t noticed that before. Nice touch
  3. I had already checked out on that season so I only picked it up on the radio going home from our grandkids’ peewee football game. Absolutely shocked. Everyone went inside to watch the big TVs but I could only make it as far as the tiny TV outside where I used to grill. Stood there in silence for two hours. It was like being on a stand thinking I’d scare the deer off if I moved too much
  4. That’s front pocket money. Don’t even have to dig out the wallet
  5. Plus that extra $20 for work clothes. Sweet
  6. Mr. KKL: How about some of that Koolaid? JJ: But you’re not even in my cult Mr. KKL: But I’m married to KKL JJ: Somebody please give this man a large
  7. Shitty? Shelley Long actually being hot and her hot ass prostitute buddies. Peak Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler. ”Looooove brokers! Hahahahaha!” You’re just wrong man
  8. Same. All I remember is the allsomeness of Lalo
  9. So he’s got a clipboard and diarrhea. That’s Texans material my friend
  10. If I was the Attorney General I’d have gotten a cease and desist against these fuckers years ago. I think all living descendants of Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, the Alamo defenders, et al should get damages
  11. It’s like if Siskel and Ebert reviewed books and somehow had a baby
  12. If you slide UT Czech III’s decade just a year forward you get The Outlaws album in ‘76 with Willie, Waylon, et al. Thanks to my father I was already familiar with their past work but even to my 12 year old self this sounded like something new and different. But if you slide that decade past ‘65 you lose a ton of cool shit as well
  13. Good Lord, Gil. He lists a who’s who of artists, most of whom wrote their own songs and are considered among the best ever at it, and you crap on Conway Twitty? I never saw a line in the record section of our local Gibson store but it seemed to me that everyone you listed sold about the same and there were a lot of Gibsons in small towns back then. As for your feelings about country music in general watch Ken Burns’ documentary about it if you haven’t already. It might change your mind
  14. Speed 2 would like a word with you
  15. So you’re saying that Barry had it in for Larry
  16. Dammit. Somebody please point out to him the shelf in the grocery store with Community coffee on it
  17. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Sincerely, Marty Macramé
  18. Caught the occasional episode when it originally aired but thanks to surly and HBO Max I’m finally realizing the greatness. 1st season, episode 5. Derrick’s debut (Draaaamaaaa!) and the preacher at nana’s funeral shaking his head and saying “chicksand” after the eulogy/break up. I’m crying
  19. What’s the alternative here? Golf clap? Group yawn? Inner high five?
  20. mrs. sunshine is watching the Bachelor and it looks like he’s taken the ladies to the Texans facilities for attempted fun. It must be his way of saying his dick doesn’t work and letting them all down easy
  21. Lil Sweet cracks me up. Good on Dr. Pepper for bringing him back. LS: Do you pretend to like sports so your girlfriend’s father will like you? Closeted guy: No, I like sports. LS: Me too (winks)
  22. Good point. He never fared well against He Man
  23. Mr. Magoo had better games
  24. Also RIP Johnny Caravella and Heavy Early
