I've been going through some of my early concert photos taken with my first Nikon DSLR. This is from the Austin Music Hall in the mid 00s, very popular band in the 90s. Can anyone guess who this is or the band?

Wild guess -- Dimebag?  He died in '04 though.

LIke this set up...question does the narrower string set-up 'real world' help the E's stay on the board?

Nope, but good try. I have never been to a Metallica show.

Did the AMH ever relocate like they said they hoped to do someday?

Don’t think so. I don’t think he ever played an explorer. Plus that dude looks too clean for dime.

I would say Mathias Jabs. But they’re more an 80s band.

I'll play.  Indigo Girls.

C’mon, guys. It’s obviously Leo Kottke.

Great shot, DougO. Love the power and action of that angle.

Way past 24 hours, I guess it's time to give up the teeeeeny-tiiiinyest of hints.

Thanks! I haven't updated the old site much the past several years and I'm thinking about "remastering" a whole bunch of the older stuff for viewing on more modern screens.

Well, I wouldn't know the guitarist if he walked up and slapped me, but I can only assume it's Tesla.

I wouldn't have either if I hadn't been there and looked up the name later.

That kinda sucks.  I mean, evidently that Firebird X sucks.  But still.  What a waste.

Dang, some hungryass little kids in Africa won't be getting their new free guitars.

They gotta be confiscated chibsons. I would take a blue one for the poors if they had offered.

Those cheapass busted used pallets get more respect than gibson guitars.

Funny, the headstocks aren't breaking off.

edit - comment number four on youtube agrees, lol

Colonel Angus 2018
These must be Chinese fakes because not one headstock broke 😂

Was there a market for faked Firebird X's? Nobody even wanted the real ones.

oh, Dale Earnhardt Jr

Saw that today. Nice looking LP.

Fender has moved the Starcaster under the Squier Classic Vibe label. $399. Kinda interested.

Cherry sunburst is way down the list of my favorite LP finishes . . . but damn.

Going to Nashville this weekend.  Headed to Heaven...aka Carter's Vintage.  Hope to make it to Gruhn's as well.

Don’t buy anything we wouldn’t buy.

I must first take a tour of my wife's closet, particularly noting any recent shoe purchases.

Is Fender pretending that the sawdust and glue ultra cheap department store Starcaster by Fender never existed?

Quote

The video was taken by a former Gibson employee named BJ Wilkes, who revealed details about the clip in an interview with YouTuber The Guitologist. Wilkes explained that the footage was shot during the “post-Henry” era, when Gibson’s new investors “were trying to clean up the mess before the end of the fiscal year. […] Gibson literally could not sell these guitars and they were on the books.”

While it is unclear if there is anything truly nefarious about the massacre, Gibson has responded with a statement: “The Firebird X destruction video that surfaced months ago was an isolated batch of Firebird X models built in 2009-2011 which were unsalvageable and damaged with unsafe components. This isolated group of Firebird X models were unable to be donated for any purpose and were destroyed accordingly.”

Looks almost identical to my 79.

This is a different video, with an interview with the construction guy who shot the video in question.

Ha.  Fucking Gibson.   The Electra MPC didn't work in 1978....yet they try it in 2011.  Fuckin' idiots.

If you're ever in need of something to cleanse the palette.

Holy smokes.  It's like she has 4 of my index fingers, if my index fingers actually had some dexterity.

Holy shit.  That is that cutie from The Goodbye Girls.  And good lord, I would need 5 right hands to keep up with that pace.  She did that effortlessly.

I always loved this version of "Gentle On My Mind"  I first heard about her from an interview with Buddy Miller.

That gal has an extraordinarily nimble musical mind.  Everything about what she does is effortless, and quick, but not rushed.  Wow.
