Why wouldn't we? They were eerily accurate in 2016.

Yeah, there's a big difference between Dems naively thinking late-campaign polls were wrong and the polls actually being wrong.  As has been stated time and again, the estimation just prior to the election was that Trump had ~ 25% chance of winning.  That's a long way from zero.  Where the polls went sideways was in the underestimation of tight races in the upper midwest, which ultimately (barely) swung Trump.  Electoral College, how does it work?

That's not what the polls measure. Polls measure who people are likely to vote for. The polls leading up to 2016 were stunningly accurate.

The polls were right.

The GOP along with Russia stole the election at state levels - just enough to win electoral college points.

Hillary won by 3 million votes and given concerted GOP election riggings and stunts, she probably won by 5.

Except for about 6 swing states, you're exactly right.

No, they were accurate there, as well. Well within the margin of error.

Here's one example, lol (Wisconsin)

Are you always wrong?

Polls don't predict who is going to win. They predict who voters are likely to vote for. The polls leading up to 2016 predicted more voters would vote for Hillary Clinton.

They were right.

This.  Polls predict "points" as it were.  If a poll predicted that Texas beats OU 31-29, but the final result is OU 31, Texas 30, the poll was pretty much spot-on in its predicted points, including the points scored by each party.  If you predicted that Texas would score 31, and they actually scored 30, folks would rightly praise your analysis.  If you predicted that OU would score 29, and they actually scored 31, same thing.

Summary -- Xing is breathtakingly stupid.  Which makes his loyalties unsurprising.

Wait...was there some illusion that Barr was independent in any way and worked for the American people? Nope. That’s not the way this admin works. Loyalty to Dear Leader is the only story.

if Barr leaked to Trump wouldn't there be a NYT article about the details since every meeting Trump has is leaked nearly immediately?  Clearly there is a ton of non loyal to dear leader people given all the leaks since before he even took the oath.  So which is it: loyal or leaker?

I made a case in the past that Barr could be a Trojan horse of sorts to both do Trump's bidding to assuage him while also helping hold DOJ together to support its functions, even if he knows it leads to the eventual downfall of Trump and associates.  We don't know yet, but he IS pleasing Trump for the time being.  That can turn fast.

I still suspect that Trump's 50 insane rage tweets against Mueller etc. that weekend in the run-up to Barr's 4 page non-summary release could have been Trump catching wind of the thrust of the Mueller report.  Can you imagine that same weekend Trump threatening to fire AG Barr on the spot if he didn't do something ?  Of course you can.  To have Barr and likely Rosenstein fired leaving an empty No.3 spot to be the Acting AG in the wake of Rachel Brand already having resigned would have been a spectacular clusterfuck.

If Barr is a trojan horse, today he got awfully close to giving it away by virtue of indulging too much in Trump-mania.  It belies who he is at the core - an intelligent competent attorney and previous USAG, regardless of the fact he has a record of being an accomplished fixer on one notable occasion.  If you play too good of a foolhardy Trump tool, suddenly you're in trouble of your own making.

A major tell will be the redacted Mueller report due within a week.  If the redacted report doesn't blunt the damage to Trump and kids, it will suggest Barr's ultimate intent is not to be Trump's Roy Cohn, to subvert justice, and to launch baseless attacks Trump's enemies.

There were some on here entertaining the fantasy that Barr was some sort of "Trojan Horse" and that he only wrote that 18 page memo to trick Trump into making him AG. Then he would actually serve justice and the American people instead of the president. I think we can safely chalk that up to wishful thinking. Barr auditioned for the job and he's doing the job he was hired to do -- protect the president. The obstruction of justice is ongoing and now it's coming from inside the Justice Dept.

I originally thought he was installed to protect the GOP.  What I failed to recognize was the GOP and Trump are now synonymous. The republicans are basically blowing off the democrats now and the rule of law.   They’re like “We don’t need to cooperate with you; we own the police, the military, and soon to be the courts.”

We are so fucked.
