He got left on a tarmac by USC because of how bad he was at his job and got to go be Saban’s OC as “punishment.” The guy is a product of nepotism. People love to point out his 10+ win seasons at Ole Miss, but they’ve never once played for or won an SEC title in any of those seasons.

I'm not discussing the merits or lack thereof regarding Kiffin.

It’s simply because he validates the trashy behavior that they themselves exhibit on a daily basis. Take his last name away and he’s selling used cars right now.

I'm talking about your Christian fundamentalist take that the only reason people want Kiffin is because they are evil sinners and want to worship him.

Do you run a Bible study for pre-teens?

Its shit and so is your posting.

To what changed is he assumed we would be in the playoffs and got lax with practice and talked about being able to spend more time teaching than practicing this off season. Several player interviews gave the impression that they took for granted they would automatically be in the playoffs and be drafted.  Basically a team pretending to be the returning champs when they hadn't actually won anything.

No dude it’s because he’s drinking a fifth a day while watching his wife fuck players!! /surly

Well Lane's about to head to LSU or Florida so the whole conversation is about to be moot. Or do we want to do the bizarre Texas fan behavior and think that he'll wait for our position to open up?

Sark is going to get the chance to shake up his staff. That's how it works unless he decides to jump to the NFL.

Yes, I think the main people that Kiffin appeals to are also Dave Portnoy and Pat Mcafee fans.

you are correct but I really hope it is the latter because shaking up the staff ain't gonna work if this guy is staring at his playsheet the whole game still.

Did Ryan Day shake up his staff or just give up being OC?

Or people who want a coach with a proven track record of building up programs and a guy who knows how to dominate the transfer portal. You can't really argue with the results he got at FAU and Ole Miss since cleaning up his act..

Yep so suck it up because it's going to happen. What you want versus what CDC is going to do are two different things.

Our current coach that this board currently wants to run out of town has been to an SEC title game and the playoffs twice, neither of which are accomplishments Kiffin can lay claim to.

Failed at USC. Redeemed as Alabama OC. Hasn’t won shit at an SEC school. Sounds familiar!

sark is fixable, he needs a top tier OC

No top tier OC would come work for Sark nor would Sark give up playcalling unless forced which would be his death kneel.

I mean, I do agree the #1 ranking was dumb by all involved. But that’s not the way to answer that question.

If the secondary can play as aggressive defense these next two games as Sark exhibited in his PC today, we might actually have a shot at 9-3.

I acknowledge that reality.

You however seem absolutely incapable of even considering your take may not be correct.

That's what you do.

We'll see.

Three straight ten wins seasons at Ole Miss and about to make exactly as many playoff appearances in the SEC as Sark has.  We'll see what he can do with real resources soon enough.

You're right. I don't think he'll be fired. He could leave for the NFL but I think he'll get every chance to shake up his staff and sure it probably won't work but that's what most programs do before they take the next step and fire a guy who won a conference championship and went to the playoffs two straight years. If we get blown out by Arkansas and aggy, maybe they do the mutually parting of ways. I don't see that against Arkansas.

You want everyone to think like you and it's always tough for you to deal with opposing viewpoints. It's what you do.

he hasn't done anything. got lucky with a QB that was old. look at what he has done nothing. hell how long did it take Ellinger to get where he was. he is a nfl QB and he couldn't do anything. looks like Mack without Vince. It even took Vince how many years? it took Sark long enough to get to playoffs. what happened next. sunglasses and commercials. money.

Ole Miss has 11 ten win seasons in their history. Kiffin has 4 of those and 7 total.

Sark has 2 in his entire career.

Has failed at a big time program and hasn’t won shit yet. If 10 wins is the goal shit Sark might get there this year let’s extend.

Sark talking about culture 24/7 is like people flashing their money around to show they’re rich. You shouldn’t have to talk about how great your culture is all the time if it’s already there. Money talks and wealth whispers. And Sark’s culture is monkeying around, penalty prone and unready for shit on the field while his wife is promoting her YouTube channel with a post from under the stands at the stadium in Georgia after a loss.

Even if you’re looking at just the offensive side of the ball (where they’re supposed to be comparable), Kiffin has put out a better product. In his time at Ole Miss, they’ve only scored <= 20 points in a game in 12% of them. Sark is at 21%. They’ve scored 40+ in 39% of his games there vs. 29% for Sark at Texas. Higher highs and lower lows.

Which is kind of my point. Most places on the Ole Miss tier would love to have those results. Definitely not good enough at Texas, but plenty good other places.

Sonny Dykes? The coach that got TCU to the National Championship game in a 4-team playoff with Max Duggan as QB?

35 year old Lane vs 50 year old Lane are two very different people.

And he only failed because they had just been popped by the NCAA and lost 30 scholarships over 3 years and a 2 year bowl ban. In spite of that he won 10 games in year 2 and was competitive in year 3. They fired him too quick and are still trying to recover.

The back end of Sabans dynasty was known for its offense and kiffin was the catalyst behind the transformation. Sark was just a beneficiary.

The People acting like replacing Sark is going to instantly make us more successful , and the people thinking we wouldn't need some rebuilding after so many drafted last year, and the people thinking we will get into the playoffs at 9-3 may be a perfect union

I said the same thing and got jumped on. He’s trying to convince himself that we have a good culture. In reality, his players can see that he has issues and if he really has skeletons coming to surface then they see that too.

No, dipshit. People can hold the simultaneous opinions that Sark is fucking up and needs to make serious changes and that it would be a bad idea to join the coaching carousel this cycle. And rebuilding is such a tired, out of date excuse. How's the Georgia OL look after it got raided by the NFL draft? It's not world beating, but it at least looks mildly competent. Mildly competent sounds amazing at this point for Texas.

Nepotism did not get him a job at Ole Miss.
