In many circles, it never really left. Social media might just be exposing the usage to people who have never seen it. But I know many who never stopped using it. I have a friend who uses 'bet' quite a bit. I don't think the younger generations use those terms that much.

I remember first hearing "bet" in menace II society.  didn't know what the fuck it meant at the time, thought it was just hood slang.

I just saw some this is made up by the media guy post a YouTube conspiracy video about it being man made and China did it on purpose ect.  That’s not the entertaining part even.  The first comment was “higher education will be the death of us” 🧐 🤣
