Texas Softball 2024 - Farewell to the Big 12 (and back to OKC?)

Texas St defeats Penn St 4-2 with a 3 run rally in bottom of 6th.  Mullins pitched,  gave up a 2 run homer in top of 6th.

Will be interesting to see if Coach Ricci Woodard rides Mullins like Connie rode Luna.   Mullins pitched when Texas St defeated aggy earlier in the year.   Only other experienced starter is freshman Madison Azua from Round Rock.

Postseason,  greatest time of year  !

7 seed Missouri tied 1-1 in the 9th with Omaha

OU has only put up 1 run in 3 innings against Cleveland State

Northwestern wins 7-2. Austin winner’s bracket game at noon

Not every top 8 seed impressed that much offensively against the #4 seeded team in their regional - 3-0 Tenn, 6-0 Florida, 5-0 Texas,

For those that don’t know as much about softball, what was significant about the spin on Siena’s pitches.

Most really good hitters prefer speed to spin. At 43’ a couple of miles per hour makes a big difference. Spin is the great equalizer, especially when a pitcher can get late break on her pitches. Combine slight movement, with not being on time, and you get lots of lazy pop ups and weak ground balls.

Stanford in a battle with SMC. 7-6 Tree in the fourth. Hoping the burn Canady early and get fucked

Tree won 8-6

Canady pitched 5 innings of perfect ball with 10 K. Then Krause gave up 6 runs in 2 innings. Canady started, then they went to Krause, before going back to Canady to finish the game

Stanford really has no staff. They have to ride her to OKC. 173.2 of 387 IP so far

Northwestern used 4 pitchers yesterday, with Riley Grudzielanek getting the W in 4 innings of work.

We will likely face off against Ashley Miller (17-5. 1.37 ERA) who worked 1 inning yesterday. So at least the coaches got to scout her some in person

Seems really interesting they pulled Miller after she gave up 1 run in the first when she's by far their best pitcher. I'd rather not face Miller, but at least Texas got to see her. NW has nothing but film on Keegan or Citlaly, whoever goes today.

Guessing they wanted her to get some work, but didn’t want to waste her if they need to play 2 today.

LadyKats had a chance to do some damage in 1st with bases loaded and no outs but only pushed two across, now OSU got 4 in bottom 1st to lead 4-2.  UK pitcher picking her nose watching catcher chase down foul popup and allowed a 4th run by not covering home.

Thx for updates

Thought you were on vacation??

On a train to Quebec City. Timing worked out well since the train took off 10 min before game time and has perfect WiFi

Damn that was a good catch by the NW RF. Wowza
