They also need to bring in a really good rb for next year.  I don't care about the depth chart this time.  If Manning keeps playing like this, they need to go for broke next season.

Agree with this. IMO we should be going all in to make a push for a title next year. Full strength of our NIL at every position we can improve.

LSU has Caden Durham he was good when he was a freshman. Haven’t paid attention this year. And floridas rb is good, unsure if he’s draft eligible.

Both of those dudes are starters for their team and they are going to be paid to be retained.

If you want to grab a RB you need to look at the Big 12 or the ACC and look for someone who wants a higher profile going into their draft year.

You can steal a good starting rb from a shitty team or even a good one.  Ohio St and Ole Miss have both done it.  Michigan poached Justice Haynes from Alabama after Saban retired.  There will be options and I think spending a lot for a good one would be a smart move this particular portal period.  This team needs an elite back to take it to another level.  I like Wisner a lot because he runs hard and is shifty as fuck, but he just doesn't have the top end speed to be a great back.

Simon and the Florida kid coming in should be a really good 1-2 punch next year. RB can contribute early. Then you have Baxter who isn’t an elite talent anymore but provides steady experience. I’d rather spend whatever NIL y’all are allocating to RB on OL. We need to completely start over on the interior and I don’t think some competition for Baker would be a bad idea either.

Of course we probably won’t actually do that, because we’re idiots.

We need to improve both groups.  I always had some questions in the back of mind if this year would really be our year because of what we lost from last year and breaking in a new qb.  Manning appears to have figured things out now though and next year could actually be the year.  I don't want to rely on a freshman running back and what we have on campus next year when it could be the difference between winning an NC or not.

I like Simon, too, but I also think how we're managing the position needs an upgrade.

A ton of NIL money is getting devoted to top high school backs and it's probably the most misspent position on the field, relative to production.

I guess maybe it'll be a litmus test on Sark's long term career intent by how hard we hit the portal to address obvious holes in the roster. If we don't at least throw a shitton of money Jordan Baugh's way, then we are either poorer than we think we are and/or Sark's gone.

Hard pass on counting on Simon and a true freshman like that. And this version of Baxter is giving us exactly nothing. Getting a starter level RB should be nonnegotiable.

Hopefully Sark sticks around. All the big vacancies will produce some good HS and portal talent to pillage.

Knowing our luck the portal will close and the NFL season ends and Sark somehow gets a NFL HC gig.
