He should be run out of Houston on a rail but the simps keep voting for him.

I’ll clarify up front that I am not saying any of these guys will be as good as the comps I am  about to make became. But….

- Sengun’s metrics are on par with 22-24 yo Jokic.

- Green and Booker’s stats through age 22 are almost identical but Booker was the only scoring option on a worse team. He was a great stats bad team guy until he wasn’t.

- Amen is a bigger Westbrook with more basketball smarts.

- Jabari should be a senior in college.

Everyone is still so damn young, we still don’t know what we have for better or for worse.

I am all for trading any of Green, Whitmore, Sheppard and even Eason/Smith this offseason if it gets a top 20 guy.  I’ll even listen to requests for Sengun if Giannis is on the table.

But please no Trae Young or LaMelo.

But knowing this is a good regular season team now, if the right offer isn’t on the table, I am also reluctantly OK with running it back, and having FVV’s and Brooks’ expirings, Green, and rookie contracts  to flip at the deadline for a star.

But Sheppard has to get more run next year or that pick is a bust year two given the guys drafted behind him that are contributing.

That’s what I’m saying. Are we just young? Have certain guys hit their ceiling regardless of age and will start regressing? That happens way more than they all develop into stars. Have to have a great gm with balls to pull the trigger on which ones need to go for already established upgrades.

personally think Sheppard was a bad pick and he will be a off the bench guy maybe. Not sure how many top 4 picks got zero playing time in the playoffs and ended up a great player? I’d say not many. We have the assets to upgrade the roster but the timing is the key. I wouldn’t want Stones job that’s for sure.

Second seed in a brutal west with a crazy young team in their first playoff, tons of valuable future draft capital, really good cap management , and just happened to lose to a championship squad that got boosted at the trade deadline with an all time great in game 7. Makes perfect sense to blow the whole thing up for an aging star. What the hell is wrong with you people?

The biggest concern is guy who won't compete, that isn't about experience, that is based upon what you have inside of you.

Terrible cliche', but you either are willing to fight or you won't and that is my biggest concern about players such as Jalen and Jabari. How in the world does anyone take Jalen seriously when multiple times this series he says after a game he has to be better only to piss down his leg the next game.

Don't get me started on Jabari and Alpi shooting fade aways over shorter players.

You have to compare the situations.  How many top 4 picks have landed on a team that finished top 2 the next year?

Our biggest weakness was (and still is) shooting, so we got the best shooter in a weak draft.  Given the current construction of the team, who picked after Reed would have made a bigger contribution?  Maybe Edey could have taken some Adams minutes?

Like I said earlier, I see no reason that Reed can't eventually play the Buddy Hield role for this team.

Sheppard biggest issue is his size. Maybe he will end up something and maybe he won’t. As of now he hasn’t done anything at all except play like a late first round or second round pick. And if he’s great it doesn’t matter what seed we are he would be playing if he’s that good.  Ime seems to want to build a east coast defensive, grind it out roster and game plan than getting shooters and scorers.

Way too early to make any call on Reed. He played basically no minutes all season. Flashed at times. Dominated in the G league.

And he is only 20

If he was on San Antonio playing 30 mins a night he could have been rookie of the year for all we know.

If Brooks is still on the roster next season he needs to be coming in off of the bench

So where does the suns pick fall if it falls where it’s supposed too and we don’t move up in the lottery? 11?

I wouldn’t bury any Rocket except for Green. He’s just not it. 1 good game out 7 is pathetic.

Amen is the only untouchable piece. Don’t overpay for Durant or any star over 30. Stone’s job is about to get much more difficult.

I mostly agree. I don't understand the fans who want to go all in and give away most of our assets for a 37yo KD (isn't this what PHX just tried?) and maybe a 2-3 year window before we're in a rebuild again. I wouldn't cry if they moved Green or Jabari. FVV and Brooks are overpaid and could be moved (FVV has a trade kicker though, and I don't know if they could/would move him after getting him to agree to a less $/yr extension). Fans seem ready to ship off Cam and Reed. Cam has a dirt cheap salary, lots of potential, and likely wouldn't get much trade value based on his limited minutes. Reed is fairly cheap and hasn't got minutes, but we drafted him to be a shooter and he can do that. Amen and Eason are up for extensions already too.

It should always be about value. If PHX is ready to dump KD and his salary, I'd give up two good young players (Green, Reed, Eason, Jabari?) or a pick or two and fill the rest out with enough salaries to match (FVV, Brooks, Landale, Jabari), but I wouldn't gut all assets for him, or even Giannis. They should have a $14m MLE to sign someone as well. But a team that looks like KD/Giannis, Sengun, Amen, FVV, Brooks, and whatever scraps are left with little future draft assets does not seem like a good short term or long term outlook.

I’d urge caution with Durant.

Well nobody here is making that decision for the Rockets lol

Shepard's biggest issue is he played one year of college basketball as a 6th man.

Rockets were a deep team this year. The front office and players love him.

Agreed. I wanted to see postseason Jalen at some point, and now we've seen it. He's got to go. I don't care how much or little we get, just move him.
