Back and forth. But we got he winner.  Key is we have our lineup healthy.  Our staff is wrecked.  But if we can everyone healthy come October, I think we can’t be beat.  But only if we’re healthy.  We just need to baby the  whole team to September.  Then all gas no brakes.  If we have our staff and lineup healthy, goodnight Gladys.

NBCUniversal Bids for MLB Rights That Were Dropped by ESPN

Company aims to air games on NBC and Peacock streaming service

Quote

Comcast’s   NBCUniversal has made an offer to Major League Baseball to take over the package of regular-season and postseason games that ESPN is walking away from, offering much less than its rival currently pays, according to people familiar with the matter.

If the bid is successful, NBC would air games on Sunday night, the slot ESPN has occupied since 1990. Games would also appear on NBC’s sister streaming service, Peacock. NBC is also interested in ESPN’s rights to the first round of the postseason and the annual Home Run Derby.

A deal with NBC would give MLB a home on another broadcast network known for carrying big-time sporting events. The league is planning a broad overhaul of how it manages its national and local rights and aims to consolidate control of them after the 2028 season.

NBC also has rights to air National Football League and, starting later this year, National Basketball Association games on Sundays. It would air some baseball games on the broadcast network and others on Peacock when NBC is carrying other sports.

Separately, Versant, the company comprising NBCUniversal cable channels including USA Network, is interested in potentially acquiring a baseball package. Versant isn’t part of NBC’s discussions with MLB.

Pretty good list.

Arod at 3rd?

Ichiro or Vlad in RF? Both would have an argument, but like Judge, neither did anything in the postseason (unlike Judge, neither had much of a chance)

Judge’s career postseason OPS is .768. Well below his normal output but most players would kill for that kind of production in October.

Pretty sure that this is not the correct call.

1.  It's not interference unless the defense was hindered from making an attempted play (don't even get me started on announcers who don't know the difference between obstruction [defensive penalty] and interference [non-defensive penalty])

2.  I've honestly never seen "teammate interference" called, but if that dude were the 3rd base coach, it wouldn't be interference because the rule requires that the coach
"physically assists" the runner, and that doesn't look like assistance to me.

3.  If you do call interference, it's a live ball, but when the play is over, runners are then placed at the bases they occupied when the interference occurred.

4.  Whatever it is, dude running onto the field with his phone should be DFA'd by now.

That’s actually still above the average MLB OPS. Maybe try learning about the game before chiming in.

But it was how Game 3 ended that made it especially memorable. Johnson thought it had tied the game with a two-out RBI in the seventh inning at Whataburger Field, but the Johnson runner barreled over head coach Gordon Gesell rounding third.

Gesell, who was waving his player home but was out of the coaches box, was called for interference and despite some disagreement with the umpires, the game ended with a 1-0 Carroll final, clinching the series.

Carroll third baseman Josh Cruz tried to make a throw to home, but was forced to step around Gesell who had stood up after the collision.

Carroll coach Lee Yeager successfully argued for the interference call based on a play he had seen at the 2010 state tournament.

Sidenote, those Carroll teams with Courtney Hawkins massively underachieved only ever bringing home one title.

Yeah, fucking barely. Nice try, but go back to your delusional world.

This “dumbass” schtick has long outlived what little humor it had when you started.

If you’re really that fucking dumb, it must be true bliss.

Now go back to your knees.

You called it “barely average”, when in actuality it is above-average. I am sorry you were wrong.

You obviously don’t know what the word “barely” means.

If you truly were as fucking stupid as you let on, you’d be wearing your drawers on your head.

The Rockies placed prized rookie right-hander Chase Dollander on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right forearm tightness.

Well, I'm sure forearm tightness is nothing serious...
