Wish Dezenzo was healthy, so he could soak up the 3B ABs with Paredes out.

Doesn't seem fair that other teams have guys get hurt and they come back in the same season.  Or their pitchers go out for the season but are back 12 months later.

How the fuck is this even possible?  Seriously you can't book a ticket from Seattle to Houston?

What the hell does this even mean?  Where this is pain is an area that is difficult to have surgery so I need a little bit of rest, but you have been fucking resting for two months?  My favorite comments is "But I think it isn't something I'll have to keep dealing with".

You aren't dealing with it right now because if you were you would be playing, instead we get yet a little bit more of rest.

More detail here. None of this makes any goddamn sense though. More questions than answers and I'm sick of Yordan's constant hand bullshit. This is not the first season he's missed extended time due to a sore hand.

The question is it a pain tolerance issue for him and his happens to be pretty low. The article says that his hand felt better with less inflammation with the 2 injections he got last month before he took BP. It just doesn’t make sense to not continue with the injections if it was effective.

Someone, somewhere in this thread mentioned the bone in question was the hamate which makes sense from the perspective that surgery really won't repair the problem.

I remember Griffey Jr. having a broken hamate and went to look up information on his issues and found an article talking about Jr. having the bone removed which also included this line in the story,

"On May 26, 1995, Griffey fractured two bones in his left wrist while making a spectacular catch against the Kingdome’s right-center field wall. Griffey missed 73 games, but returned to play the rest of the season with a 4-inch metal plate and seven screws attached to his wrist."

Not wanting to go angry old man who talks about back in my day players didn't take days off and we don't know the full details, but when I read the comments from Alvarez etc...and am reminded that AFTER returning from surgery with a FUCKING plate in this left wrist he hit over 200 HR's in his next 4 seasons for Seattle, wtf is going on with Alvarez and I don't  believe it is all the Astros medical staff.

Griffey, Jr was one of the GOATs.  These articles about his pain and tolerance of it, sure calls into question his drive to want to play.  I mean the guy is sitting on a $100M contract with 1 WS ring already.  Maybe he doesn't care to make more money at the end of this contract, which he is going to need to be on the field to do.  This is frustrating for us as fans when we have no idea of knowing how bad the pain is or why its there because the team doctors are just barely competent.

So after the team basically said he needs to suck it up and play then had to backtrack and say never mind it's a broken hand but it's "60% healed," are some of y'all back to thinking he needs to suck it up and play?  The team just has no credibility with me.

Whatever the cause, it sucks because Yordan could have been an all time great with good health but with so many injuries in his early to mid 20s I think he's destined to be a what could have been.
