old school managing - send them back out there and tell him to do his fuxkign job
Old school managing would have let Alexander get to 110 pitches and go CG SO

Raise your hand if you would trade making the playoffs for a new manager.

That's like if you would rather receive a blowjob or get kicked in the nuts.

Counterpoint: Altuve’s “swing” the past month.

I started to add a "but" diatribe noting that Altuve has fallen off the face of the earth, but I decided to see if he might do anything at all productive over the next few weeks. I doubt he will, but who knows? I suspect he's somewhat like Verlander: old and stubborn and at this point only occasionally useful. Hate it but won't deny it if he doesn't come around before October.

The entire coaching staff is getting fired after the season, from trainers to Espada. If Crane runs it back he is going to get crucified in the Houston media.

You think Crane gives a shit about who says mean things about him in the Chronicle and sports radio to their hundreds of listeners?

Hmmmm. Altuve at 4 seems bad. Put Diaz there. We're hamstrung enough with Trammell and Dubon in the lineup.

he needs to break out for this team to make a ws run

True. But for now, I'd let him "break out" at 6 or deeper in the lineup. Not that other options at 4 are great, but I'd much rather have Diaz there while he's swinging it well.
