do you ever yearn?

I wish.  At least they have a festive work environment.

No, but I was all excited to recreate festivus for my oldest tomorrow evening now that she's sorta old enough to finally understand Mom & Dad's weirdness.  But I got meetings until 8:00p.  I'll be lucky to hug them goodnight.

KUEGER! KUEGER!

I swear I'm not looking, but I think I could do better than most.  I'll let somebody else go first.  But as usual, I gotta be a pain in the ass and say it's a trick question because Jerry's 2-face girlfriend shouldn't count.  She didn't actually sit for dinner.  And I know for sure that I can't honestly name Charlie's associate without looking.

But I think we should also remember that Captain Nemo couldn't make it to the dinner.  But he was able to attend Festivus Dinner at Jay Riemenschneider's across town at the last minute.

Jerry, Elaine, Two guys from the track or whatever, Kramer, Kruger, George, Frank, Estelle.  Two-face girl drops in.  Did I miss anyone?

Yeah, that's it.

Correct, Gwen comes in and yells at Jerry, calls Elaine the ugly girl she's been hearing about and storms out (bad lighting on the porch).  I'm not sure we ever hear Charlie's friend's name.

Denim Vest wasn't there, was he?

He was not.

I would have awarded a bonus point for Dr. Van Nostrand since Kreuger greets Kramer as such.  "Uh...that's right."

I just rewatched it...such a great scene.

"Kreuger, you couldn't smooth silk sheets if you had a hot date with a babe...I lost my train of thought."

"How'd my horse do?  He had to be shot."

Kreuger takes a pull from a flask before suggesting that George fill in for the feats of strength.

"I think you can take him, Georgie!"

I don't think so.  Elaine sees him right before and he gets out of going because of how Elaine looks after the Shvitz.

Also---Biff tannen.  "two guys from the track or whatever."  Da fuh man?  You used to care about things.  You had purpose.  "The track or whatever"???  All those 1.25 mile tracks in Manhattan taking up prime real estate?  It was an OTB facility man!  That's what made it even better...the guys working betting windows at actual tracks at least have a bit of showmanship/customer service rapport.  That's what made "Counterguy" and Charlie so great, they were the slimiest of slime.  The guys that work the off-shift at an OTB facility for degenerate gamblers who can't even be bothered to travel out to Long Island for a proper day of leisure at the track.

And yes, as we all know...Tracy Letts went on to a brilliant acting/writing career.  Won a Tony as I understand (not for Scarsdale Surprise).  Charlie however, continues to be mistaken for Jack Black until his dying day.

so many brilliant little details in that dinner scene.  'Counterguy' (never knew until now, that was his credited name)...comes in wearing a scarf but has that awful 70's wide-lapel shirt on with top 3-4 buttons undone (just so he can stick his hand inside it while speaking to Elaine).  Nobody except for Kramer and Elaine ever acknowledge Counterguy and Charlie during the entire scene.  And the best part, IMHO, is Charlie seems to be doing that thing with his mouth with either gum or a toothpick...but he actually has neither in his mouth.  He just wants an excuse to stick his tongue out at Elaine.  And I don't blame him.

Okay, to the meal so I can appropriately plan for 2022.  I see Estelle come out with some sort of carved loin.  Can't tell if it's beef or pork?  I see peas in a bowl.  I see mashed potatoes.  Only booze is Krueger's flask.

Well, he was reportedly a porn star.  Of course, it could just be the natural, male reaction to Julia in real life.  I know I wouldn't want to be held responsible for my actions if I saw her.

Colin Malone actually was, in real life, the "porn connection", between Gil Bang and Larry David.  via..."Mister Show" and the taint magazine. Another Festivus Miracle!

Happy Festivus everyone.

If anyone is looking to get me a last minute Festivus gift, may I suggest an engraved flask with the 'R' missing "K UGER".  A timelessly thoughtful, and functional, gift

Busted Cold.

And now...as Festivus rolls on...I must tell you all.

I did not prompt this.  I did not plan this.  But I got home late from work (almost a double shift at H&H)...and my youngest was in her toddler bed and I went to kiss her good night and she showed me her stuffed animals as she usually does.  And then she pulled out, from under one of her blankets, a little baby doll that she found in her sister's stuff the other day.  Nothing special, but I realized that this was some doll, perhaps the kind that could turn religious holidays on their head.  With insight like that, how can 2022 not be great for the restivus?
