He got a pass picked attacking the deep sideline today.

Yeah.  Late and under thrown.  He threw the guy covered.  The deep ball to Wingo was late and underthrown.  A bunch of short passes were underthrown.   He short armed half his passes.  Even the TD pass was a little underthrown  Just a shitty performance.

Arch’s accuracy was terrible. His footwork was atrocious. It looked like he was trying to be Mahomes out there with all the sidearm shit. The goal line plays were on Sark, a sneak when the stacked the middle is just lazy. They’ll get better later in the year and hopefully get another shot.

They were playing their safeties deep, that's why their all world safety wasn't making plays, it's also why we ran for 4.5 average, nothing we did on offense was remotely impressive.

Fair. And I said decent and if you can run for 4.5 and the pass game sucks ass keep running for 4.5 until you get the safeties to creep up. Sarks absolute failure to game this out today was utter fucking trash.

sark is the head coach, OC, and a "QB whisperer"

if he isn't to blame for constant sucky QBs, who is?  Milwee?

if so, guess who he reports to

But, the touchdown play always works against air and the 3rd team defense shorts & t-shirts!

Oh come on you dumb fuck.. arch lasers it in when he's doesn't have to. That isn't on the coach... especially when the skips a hard throw in.  You can blame sark for calls, but not delivery.  I'm not saying arch can't turn it around, but he always had Troy with the curbe

Sark can't throw the ball for him. This wasn't a loss because, for instance, Ohio State blitzed a shit ton and collapsed the pocket. There was generally a very good pocket for Arch to throw from. This wasn't a loss because we couldn't run the ball. We actually ran quite effectively. This wasn't a loss because we didn't call shots to open receivers. We did. This isn't a loss because we didn't call the TD on 3rd and 5 in a 1 score game. We did. It is a loss because our QB couldn't execute shit. Sayin as our QB and the this game is a blowout for Texas. That's the truth.

If Ewers had the same issues in Sark's RZ against Washington, Georgia 1 and 2 and OSU 1, at the goal line and beating those team why in the fuck would Sayin be successful?

We held the bestest wide receive in the whole history of football to 43 yards. The TV told me he is literally Calvin Johnson, Devonta Smith, and DL Metcalf all in one…

We did this all while also holding the best offensive line evarrrr to 2.3 ypc in the run game.

At least we dont have Deboer.  They are getting annihilated.

FSU has one of the best offensive minds …. and play callers in the business in Gus Malzahn at OC, I mean he’s no Sark but….

Arch was simply terrible. Locked onto guys, mechanics broke down, couldn’t hit wipe open ones. Can hope that it was just a fluke but odds are that this will be an ongoing story the rest of the year. Wasn’t like their defense went crazy against us, arch was just missing wide open guys when they had chances to make plays and then made terrible decisions when plays weren’t there. I don’t have faith anymore. Sark has had 2 years to focus on learning how to overcome redzone woes and other deficiencies and it looks like he’s gotten worse.

You’d think an all world talent 3 years in to the program could put some touch on the ball at this point in his career. Might fuck up progressions or pre snap reads but a basic touch pass? He should have that now.

Arch's issue weren't about the redzone. They were about his inability to throw the ball anywhere near his receiver. We win going away with Sayin. I'm sorry you're in denial. Whether Sark should have schemed the game differently or not is irrelevant. As schemed, it was winnable if the QB play is even halfway to competent.

I understand the gnashing of teeth and the pessimism. Some of the stuff Arch and Sark did was so bad that you just have to hope at least some of it will get fixed

Mrs Mo has been out of town and is flying in tonight, so I can't even get drunk and forget about this game since I have to go pick her up. At least she's bringing me 2 really nice bourbons.

Which airport? I apparently live on the dfw tarmac now.

Anyone here trying to pin this on Sark's play calling is a moron.

What's he supposed to do with a QB that can't make routine passes? Arch was awful. That was the reason we lost. Arch sucked. That is the fundamental reason we lost. Nothing else.

Exactly

Just took a good look at the final stats and they’re highly maddening. We outrushed them by 100 yards, and also had more passing yardage.

the penalties were the biggest difference maker, both in helping them continue their first td drive and in offsetting would-be safety.  And baker’s false starts did a decent job of stalling drives as well.

Red zone was the real difference maker

They need to teach Arch how to run the sneak. It is a skill. Tom Brady was a statue but had like a 90% success rate on them. OSU stacked the middle but no one was off the LG. Run that way.

My recollection is his vertical passes are better than lateral ones; i.e., the exact opposite of Ewers. But, he was not this bad last season. You could tell it was something he needed to work on though. Which is why I think this performance had way more to do with him getting inside his on head and a fear of failure than anything else. He's human and the ridiculously insane levels of hype got to him on the biggest ever opening road game. That's my take. He's got three games to even his keel and right his rudder. But I've never been one to be all that concerned with making predictions. So we'll see how he does.
