James Franklin continues to keep failing. How do those fans not have the highest suicide rate?

I was at the Arkansas game today, I wondered a similar thing.

Arkansas fans know deep down in their chest cavity they aren't ever winning shit. Time isn't going backwards, and well, if they want championships they might want to fill out an application for NAIA.

It’s called “improvement” during the season. Must be nice.

It worked out so well for Oklahoma State, that I wish this would be true. But Jerrah doesn't really give a shit about his alma mater. If he did, they wouldn't be where they are. Imagine dying not having seen your alma mater in 60 years, and your own team win one in 30, and that's if he croaks tomorrow. It'll probably be more like 70 and 40. Oof.

To be fair, I’m not sure I knew he was still alive.

Hahaha I made that same comment earlier.

Bama went for it on fourth and short at midfield and failed, thus flipping the field. Stupid.

Georgia went for it on fourth within field goal range and failed. They lost by three. Amusingly stupid.

Kick the fucking ball.

wasn't the georgia one 4th and goal from like the 5? I'm a "go for it/live a little" type of fan and even i thought that was dumb

I wonder how much the stupid phrase "settle for a field goal" and commentary stating that going for it is "aggressive" have wormed their way into the subconscious of coaches. You're not "settling" for anything; you're scoring three points. Just watch your team and fans when you kick the ball through the uprights; they celebrate a victory.

The earlier in the game it is, the less you know about the value of three points. It seems that as the game goes on, almost always, the investment in those three points pays off very nicely in either providing a margin for victory or putting your opponent in the position of needing to score twice to overtake you.

I've also noticed that sports announcers never revisit a decision to be aggressive when it fails. The attempts in the Ga-Bama game, as important as they turned out to be (Bama put Georgia close to their goal line; Georgia squandered a chance to tie and win the game in OT), were never re-addressed.
