He was one of the worst referees in the NFL when he was a active, so it makes perfect sense that ESPN picked him up as a rules expert.

Plus, Mack was such an astute judge of QB talent.

Ah yes, who could forget Mack passing on Drew Brees in the first round of the 2001 NCAA Draft.

I’m not disputing that he’s a good quarterback, but texas in the late 90s was a machine.  he wasn’t talented enough to play here, period.
