Btw, win #39 today was the most since 2013. Finishing the regular season at 42-12 (or 43-12 if we make up the PVAM game) would be one of our better finishes since Cat left (43-15 2010; 46-10 2011; 47-13 2012; 51-10 2013).

If we can win 2 in the conference tournament and 3 in the regional, that’ll be 47-48 wins in year 1 for Mike. Anything in a super regional would be golden.

Oh hell let’s hit 50 wins by making the WCWS!

Looks like we are bringing Shae back slowly. Or saving her for 2 more perfect games against Baylor 😉

Hopefully,  there were no issues after her 1 inning yesterday.

Kansas had 9 hits today.    Elish is not accustomed to pitching on Friday and Sunday with the depth of the Oregon staff.    After a great regular season,  our postseason may be short-lived without a 100% healthy Shea.

6th in RPI.

Baylor is sitting at 51, so I don't think those 2 games hurt our RPI and may help offset UIW.  Incarnate Word is #254.  Come on, midweek rain!

Top 10 in the RPI is as follows:

OU
UCLA
Arizona
Washington
FSU
Texas
Florida
LSU
Alabama
Minnesota

I think #1-5 feel very safe that they are hosting as a national seed.  I think 6 and 7 should feel secure if they win out.  LSU/Alabama could be the final spot and play each other this weekend.  Winner is probably getting the final spot. Arizona still has to play the 2 teams they are stuck between but anything better than 0-6 should be okay for them.

Our 12 losses equals the same as LSU and we're one loss better than Florida.

OSU will also host (#13), but Tech is out - #21 right now.

What effect could the tournaments have on the Top 8 ?    Could LSU  and Alabama go ahead ?

Below is the B12 Tournament Schedule.    Looks like we would play OKSt to open (challenge, like home game for them).     I don't understand pool play,  single elmination for all games ?

GAME SCHEDULE

Date Seeds Time  Field TV
Friday, May 10 Game 1 - No. 2 seed vs. No. 3 seed 11 a.m. INTEGRIS FCS
Friday, May 10 Game 2 - No. 4 seed vs. No. 6 seed 11 a.m. Field 3 FloSoftball
Friday, May 10 Game 3 - No. 1 seed vs. No. 4 seed 2 p.m.  INTEGRIS FCS
Friday, May 10 Game 4 - No. 3 seed vs. No. 5 seed 2 p.m. Field 3 FloSoftball
Friday, May 10 Game 5 - No. 2 seed vs. No. 5 seed 5 p.m.  INTEGRIS FCS
Friday, May 10 Game 6 - No. 1 seed vs. No. 6 seed 7:30 p.m.  INTEGRIS FCS
Saturday, May 11 Game 7 - Pool A 3rd place vs. Pool B 3rd place 11 a.m. INTEGRIS FCS
Saturday May 11 Game 8 - Pool A 2nd place vs. Pool B 2nd place 1:30 p.m. INTEGRIS FCS
Saturday, May 11 Game 9 - Championship Game 4 p.m.  INTEGRIS FS2

No, pool play means 2 games, best record within your pool moves on.  3 guaranteed games.

So, by today's standings:

1 OU
2 OSU
3 Texas
4 Texas Tech
5 ISU
6 KU

So Pool A would be: OU, Texas Tech, KU
Pool B would be OSU, Texas, ISU

Actually think we'd like that, schedule-wise. OSU is a top 15 RPI opponent, ISU is a top 60 RPI opponent and either facing Tech in the 2nd place game (top 25 RPI) or OU (#1 RPI) is beneficial.  That would be 3 top 60 opponents which would be a big boost (2 top 25 or 2 top 15).

We swept ISU, we played OSU pretty close outside of 1 bad game.

Texas would probably throw Elish against OSU to open pool play and, if they won, throw Bollinger against ISU in order to try to win the pool and have Shae available for OU.

I think the final 3 spots are going to be between Texas, Florida, Alabama, LSU.

Texas: RPI 6, Overall SOS 3, Non-conference SOS 9
Florida: RPI 7, Overall SOS 4, Non-conference SOS 40
LSU: RPI 8, Overall SOS 8, Non-conference SOS 31
Alabama: RPI 9, Overall SOS 32, Non-conference SOS 97

Texas has 15 top 50 wins (10 top 25 wins) -- 15-13 overall against the top 50
Florida has 20 top 50 wins (13 top 25) -- 20-13 overall against the top 50
LSU has 21 top 50 wins (13 top 25) -- 21-11 against the top 50
Alabama has 20 top 50 wins (8 top 25) -- 20-6 against the top 50

Alabama has a loss to #49 (A&M) that could end up on a Quadrant 3 loss
LSU has a loss to #49 and #51 (Baylor), both which could end up a Q3 loss
Florida has no Q2 and or Q3 losses
Texas has no Q3 losses and their 2 Q2 losses are not near the cutoff (#27/34)

Texas best win is #10 Minnesota; worst loss is #34 Wisconsin
Florida's best win is #3 Arizona; worst loss is #20 Auburn
LSU's best win is #6 Texas; worst loss is #51 Baylor
Alabama's best win is #3 Arizona; worst loss is #49 A&M

Conclusion: Texas has the best SOS and RPI of the bunch but the least amount of top 25 wins.  They really need to win against OSU in the Big 12 tournament and hope they get Tech or OU and a win to get 2 more.

Gut Feeling:  Texas, Florida and LSU/Alabama winner will be in the top 8.  Only way Texas gets knocked out is a loss to Baylor to end the season or LSU/Alabama loser wins the SEC tournament.

The tweet actually makes it sound like they are excited it’s canceled too LOL

They should be!

The RPI game at season's end means a lot.  We potentially finish with Baylor x2, OSU, ISU and then Tech or OU in the Big 12 tournament 2nd or 1st place game - all top 60 opponents and exactly what we need to ensure we remain in the top 8 of the RPI.

If OSU gets swept by OU, how much do you think Texas will be kicking themselves for March 29 (0-1 loss to OSU), April 6 (2-3 loss to Tech) and April 19 (3-4 loss to OU) because we could have tied for 2nd with a Friday night win in Stillwater (and gotten 2nd place based on the series win) or taken 2nd place outright with 2 other wins.

Whatever, 6pm Saturday followed by Senior Day on Sunday at 1.  Show out for Brooke and Bekah and Hayter.

OU @ OKSt,  6PM, tonight,   FSSW (Ch 1754, Uverse) if anyone is so inclined.    OU needs 1 win for the title.

However,  70-80& chance of t'storms.

(Personally,  I only periodically check the score,  can't stand to watch OU)

With LSU getting their ass kicked by Bama in the first 2 games and Florida losing 2 to MSU, I don’t think all 3 SEC teams would be national seeds if we win tomorrow and can win 2 in the Big 12 tournament.

Lady Horns up 1-0 after 4 innings....

Lots of baserunning mistakes or else lead would be larger....

Go Horns 🤘

-   Mike White had a terrible game as 3B Coach.   Watch replay of 3rd/4th innings.   You can't send a runner home when the SS fields the ball even with the 3B bag.    There is aggressive base running and over aggressive base running.

-   Super game by Elish as usual (1 hit, 4Ks, 1BB)

-   Solid defense,  especially Parker at SS.

-   Props to Baylor for playing well considering their season was decimated by injuries.    They have been forced to use two infielders as pitchers (Krupit,  losing pitcher today. and McGlaun).    Baylor will finish last in the B12.

-  OU beat OKSt 3-0 for their 8th consecutive title.    That reign will be ending soon.

quick question: should I read anything into our offense dropping off from the beginning of the season?  Is it just that the big 12 just has much better pitching than we faced earlier in the year? Seems like we hit better earlier in the year even against decent teams, but I may be mis-remembering.
