“If courts are holding us up.” Watergate level stuff on a daily basis.

You gotta lot of old people set in their ways, that's usually the problem. Volunteers is always a problem, especially if you don't make it welcoming for them. Seen it many times. Lotta politics involved, unfortunately.

Adam Rittenberg: Steve Sarkisian defends culture at Texas after latest loss -
I'm in the minority...I liked the beveled Double T, always have. Thought it was the upgrade we needed over the old one (happened in the mid-to-late 90's). 1000000% Amen.

Yeah, I get you. I want this for Okie State as well (and in basketball), the conference is more fun when y'all are good.

Eligibility? Can he play LG? -
I said a while ago (when Pittman got fired) that I would like to see an NFL OL coach come in. I think there are some issues with our pass pro schemes. Florida was able to dictate match ups (RB on DE 1 on 1). Georgia abused them last year. I dont know OL play. I am sure there is someone in here that knows OL better, than can talk about this.
-
This is just not true, man. Look at how much Texas has spent. Not trying to talk shit here, UT fans, y'all are just the most pertinent example right now. Like yes, obviously paying a premium for top talent is important, but it's only one piece of the puzzle. Talent evaluation, roster construction and cohesion are extremely critical and Tech seems to have hit on all 3. We identified the holes in our roster and filled pretty much all of them with very good players, by all reports there are zero locker room issues and this team really enjoys playing with each other. No one's ego is getting in the way. For all the flak Joey McGuire gets around here, and I certainly have had a number of issues with him (mainly focus and discipline, penalties continue to be a problem at times), the one thing he is really good at is getting all of his players to buy in and put the team ahead of themselves. Everything you hear out of the program is team, team, team. None of that happens simply by throwing money at the problem.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal

Capital: the one ring to rule them all. -
Looks like their old logo from the 1990s, squashed a little flatter and with the red a little darker.

That’s right. The White House is calling judges who tell them the illegal shit they’re doing is illegal… they’re calling those judges “insurrectionists”. Thats where we are now. We’re probably about six months away from them saying they’re going after all the insurrectionists who voted for Harris in 2024.

I know everyone is saying Paredes will be 1B next year, but I was wondering if the Astros should triple down and go even older. Julio Franco is 67 and a free agent.
-
This was probably the number one reason we ended up with a Mustang Mach E over an Ioniq 5 earlier this year. We probably actually liked the Ioniq slightly better as a car. But the dealership experience between Ford and Hyundai was night and day. Ford dealers are still scummy of course because they're car dealers, but they at least give off an air of professionalism. Everyone at the Hyundai dealership on the other hand seemed like they had wandered in off the street earlier that day.

When Sark took over to be Atlanta’s OC after Kyle Shanahan, the offensive production plummeted.
-
Concedes a point? I think we're all better off knowing what these assholes are lying about, when they're actually lying.
-
I'm not surprised. I'm sort of the opinion that the people who've started running the lodge on the board are a bunch of pricks, based on their decisions. Like, they keep trying to grow the Czechfest here and then have a fucking hissy fit when they don't have enough volunteers. Like, it gets to be more of a shitshow every year, why do you keep trying to make it bigger? Getting "names" probably dovetails into that. "Lets make this rival Wurstfest!!" Why don't you try making it suck less, before you grow it?

What he said about Kyle Shanahan is so damn true compared to Sark's offense -
The Yankees wanted him before he signed with us, once the Blue Jays are done with them maybe we can trade him there, their infield defense is horrible. If we eat a portion of the money maybe we can get a B level prospect in return.
-
I think it is because they are sometimes trying for a 2nd season but still want an ending or cliff hanger. it is hard to thread that needle. Black Rabbit seemed like a one and done though vs. Alien Earth which seemed to always be trying for multiple seasons. (I haven't read up on either so not sure if there was a multi season contract for either).

This thread should be pinned so we can find these GIFs easily lol

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal
Brisketexan replied to Bozo_Casanova's topic in Cloak Room
It's been over. When one side in a two-party system decides -- and succeeds -- to govern via idiocracy and kakistocracy, it's all over but the shouting. The only choice left is who governs the rubble. "Whether the Republic will be rubble" is a question that's no longer on the table, it's been answered.
