  1. Past hour
  2. The argument for has always been to bring in the Metroplex, but in my mind that has been about as accurate as you bring in UH for the Houston market. Same thing historically has gone for SMU as well which brings us back to the uncomfortable truth this isn't about competition, the pageantry of college sports, rivalries and all that bull shit and cut to the chase it is simply about money and greed. The only question to me is how much longer until members of the SEC and the Big 1 0 start to turn on each other for bigger pieces of the pie because I have seen this story before and in the end the knives will come out.
  3. Mike Johnson says he doesn't speak evil of another Republican but Jesus says it's okay to speak evil of Democrats.
  4. I say let them have their fun. For the vast majority of them, it's the last time they'll be in the spotlight before disappearing and sitting on the bench for three years before they portal to Sam Houston State.
  5. S'what I'm sayin. Stab me in the back once, shame on you. Do it twice, shame on me. They're Trumpkins. Point out which way Trump went.
  6. In all seriousness that is a very broken person whom society has let down. People need community and they need a sense of purpose and belonging to something bigger than themselves. Organized religion, for all of its many flaws, once filled that need. So did bowling leagues and Freemasonry. For some of us, volunteering or work or even this board fills that need. For some of these people MAGA fills that need. I see those people as victims in an epidemic of isolation and loneliness, even if they aren’t blameless. When Talarico was on Rogan he said something to the effect that you can only love god as much as you love the person who you love the least. That’s a a Christian perspective. But regardless of the Christianity involved, can we honestly look at that person and not see someone in pain? I can’t.
  7. I'm still a little, um, fuzzy on the accusations. Of sedition and treason. Because on his way out the door in 2016, Obama... um.... yeah what did he do again? Turned over power peacefully?
  8. So now that we're at the point of ICE entering schools and their coaches standing up against the feds saying they'll die before they let their kids be taken, I hope you're paying attention.
  9. Ah yes, the belief that it was all about censorship. Colbert wishes he was the Smother's Brothers and if I remember correctly there was no delay on ending the show. Why not simply pull the plug on live shows and fill the time with reruns if CBS is so afraid of what he might say and the repercussions? Seriously, if you are getting less than 2M per show as reported how much more are you going to lose by switching to the best of for the remainder of the tenure.
  10. How could you fight them? Even if you were able to stop them from getting in, good chance you'll eventually get prosecuted for doing it while they get pardoned.
  11. Fuck’s sake, I thought some crumb was on my screen…just his nose.
  12. What more enjoyable way to spend an afternoon than hanging out with a bunch of dildos driving a cybertruck.
  13. Somebody improved on this:
  14. An interesting Quinn thread that becomes an Arch thread:
  15. It somewhat depends on seat location. We did better on resales last year with better seats but they are still pretty shitty for weeknight games against opponents without a big fan base. Biggest advice I would have is when you know you can't make a game list for sale sooner rather than later. We tend to suck at this and make decisions day of game or day before game and that costs us. The rare times we both know we are out of town or have a conflict and won't use the tix weeks in advance we get a pretty solid return.
  16. The hat tossing shit is so overdone and corny as fuck. I wish these kids would give it a rest. Fuck. Whatever school he chooses, just pick up the fucking hat and be done with it, whether it's us, Oregon, Michigan, or whomever.
  17. I don’t think so. It’s likely you are poor at player evaluations.
  18. https://www.latimes.com/sports/highschool/story/2025-07-22/high-school-football-impacted-los-angeles-ice-raids Hey, gotta break a few (brown) eggs to make an omelette, amirite DT?
  19. I put this in another thread (the wrong one, probably), but here's a good watch about the bitching and moaning about Texas "buying players". It's a good watch.
  20. Even if you rarely watch that idiot speak, I recommend the above vid. The dementia is pathetic.
  21. Exactly… if it’s this or the madness of Buck-ee’s I know where I’m going.
  22. I mean - they have much more bargaining leverage than someone in marketing or whatever. There are thousands of people in marketing that can do basically the same shit. There are not multiple Caitlin Clark or A'Ja Wilson's. The street you're talking about goes both ways. If I'm Caitlin Clark and you're telling me "what are you going to do, go play basketball somewhere else?" I'm saying "Bitch I might - what are you going to do, find another Caitlin Clark?" The only reason these ladies don't have (or haven't had) as much leverage as NBA or MLB players is because the financials are a lot messier and the league isn't as profitable. As the money shoots up and the league becomes profitable or even breaks even (which I'm betting it's close to already) so does the bargaining power that the players have. Sure - but there are a lot of numbers between 9 and 30 😉 I would assume they get more than they financially "deserve" because they are already dragging this out into a PR mess that a fairly infant league isn't going to want to deal with.
  23. Especially if one of them gets him, too, with a military-grade assault rifle legally purchased from an Academy along with a pair of Crocs and a fishing shirt.
  24. This guy sums it up really well about all the bitching and moaning about Texas "buying players". It's a good watch. https://youtu.be/XywXfcuemis?si=O4-ynLX1_RcYNkuV
