  1. Past hour
  2. It might still be called the big 10, but it’s going to be run by Greg Sankey’s nominated leader and it’ll be a folded under some umbrella org. OSU was the most profitable program in the NCAA in 2024 and still lost money. I realize they like to use the same accountants as Hollywood studios, but it’s clear there’s going to be a desire for the richer teams to keep more of the money they are generating.
  3. Could pull an ND and be “independent” like ND. Hell, have Mich, ND, and USC all on each other’s schedules.
  4. J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets!
  5. This seems to be where we're heading but I think the number will be a lot smaller than 50-60. It will come to this in the secsecsec too. It made no sense for Texas and Oklahoma to throw away century-long rivalries to go subsidize the likes of Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arkansas, and the Mississippis instead.
  6. Hahahaha, now a PRTD. Fucking genius.
  7. PRTD for Jets now, wow.
  8. All day every day
  9. He’s so mad at Donald Trump that he’s going to give Trump and FedSoc ANOTHER lifetime appointment so he can “speak out.” Only a lawyer with a titanic ego would overestimate the impact of their own opinion by that much. What a deluded person.
  10. Did he post that because he was proud of it? It’s all fucked up and shitty
  11. Ezra Klein talked about this on Friday and described Newsome as an old school politician. I’m paraphrasing, but he says “this is what people like and don’t like about Newsome. He does the things we expect politicians to do, like experiment and then pivot towards the things that are popular.” In other words, we’re all a little deranged living in an era of Trump in which he does all of the unpopular shit and seems to mostly get away with it.
  12. The Texans are an undisciplined football team. Eight games in and still making stupid mistakes. inexcusable.
  13. This is so true. In the industries I follow closely, private equity typically comes in and looks for a high rate of immediate return. Often times they're taking complete control of a company (perhaps acquiring a stressed asset at a discount), shaving costs, and seeking a maximum return before the business goes to shit. In this case they're going to be minority owners, but they're going to propose all sorts of gross and crass marketing or business opportunities to monetize their investment. This will prove to be a terrible deal for Big 10 fans.
  14. Two different pans seems a lot easier than driving around town looking for red tortillas.
  15. They aren’t going to talk about portal help when the 2026 class is a few weeks away from signing, AND they are trying to flip a guy. Settle down Eggberts.
  16. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says he is ready to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio but insists Moscow will not budge on its demands for ending the war, Reuters reports. Russia is waiting for Washington to confirm that August's Anchorage summit agreements still stand. Russia's Lavrov: I am ready to meet Rubio | Reuters Lavrov: no legal way to take Russian sovereign assets US is considering Putin's nuclear deal proposal Russian Ukraine proposal is based on Putin's 2024 offer Russia will not give up regions it controls - Lavrov Ultimately, this is probably why Russia is willing to kill or wound 120,000 men to take a city that formerly had 60,000. They are trying to get as much territory as possible for the bargaining table. And they sell it to the Russian people by saying it was paid for with Russian blood. Best Summary: "I'm ready to meet as long as you give me everything I demand."
  17. Hell yeah, picked up the shit-ass Jets late last night in two leagues, KRTD now.
  18. You think the SEC is going to let Michigan and OSU go to the ACC? I could also see a scenario where this results in a cross-conference divisional re-alignment, which is what all of this has been headed towards, anyway, with the top 50-60 revenue teams doing their own thing.
  19. We evidently have two playable guards on the team right now, and we return neither of them. Maybe Gerry is hung over but we will be required to hit the portal in the interior OL. Tackle is probably ok.
  20. Jets KRTD to tie.
  21. Does anyone know what Jacob Rodriguez’s wife does for a living? It seems like it could be an interesting story but the media has never brought it up during a game.
  22. Former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg writes in his memoirs he refused President Zelensky's February 2022 request for a no-fly zone over Ukraine because NATO would have had to strike Russian air defenses in Belarus and Russia, risking direct war. He called ending that phone call painful. Jens Stoltenberg feared Nato would collapse under his leadership Nato’s former secretary-general has described the “painful moment” in February 2022 when he refused President Zelensky’s desperate plea to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine. Jens Stoltenberg said he feared their conversation might be the last phone call the president would make. “We all feared for the life of President Zelensky and his family,” he said. “He called me from a bunker in Kyiv with Russian tanks just up the road. And he said: ‘I accept you’re not sending in Nato ground troops, though I disagree. But please close the airspace. Prevent the Russian planes, drones and helicopters from flying and attacking us.’ ---- Stoltenberg said he had told Zelensky: “I understand why you’re asking for this. But it will not happen, because if Nato is going to close the airspace of Ukraine, the first thing we have to do is take out Russian air defence systems in Belarus and Russia, as we cannot fly in over Ukrainian airspace with Russian air defence missiles targeting Nato planes. “And if there is a Russian plane or helicopter in the air, we have to shoot it down and then we are in full war between Nato and Russia. And we’re not willing to do that.
  23. Monangai bowls over a bunch of Giants for 6.
