That would be insane if we could get the Gator RB. Two grandchildren of absolute legends of the game on the same team, to have Archieβs grandson is one thing, but to add Slingin Sammyβs grandkid hallelujah.

If she has damages, they are mostly of an "intangible" or "dignitary" sort, pain, suffering, humiliation. Although those are awarded in lawsuits, they are generally tied to actual economic damages. That is, I actually lost $5 in this deal, but it was so humiliating I ask you to award me $10. There are cases, such as defamation, where reputational damages are all there are, but even those tend to be tied to a number, as in "I'm going to need to spend $50k on a PR campaign to restore my reputation," and then you might get some multiple or fraction of that for the "dignitary" part. So, I'm not sure she would have any theory supporting large economic damages, so it tends to follow that the dignitary damages would be small also. One factor at work, though, is that UM would probably prefer to avoid exposing the sordid details and so might pay more than the case is economically worth to make her go away. And UM, as a state entity, might have some sovereign immunity protections.

Paesanoβs has a private room, we have used it a couple of times. Ida Claire has a private section inside and an Airstream they will reserve. Not sure how many they seat in the Airstream but the private area is plenty large. Cappys will give you most of the upstairs, Paloma Blanca and La Fonda on Main have nice private rooms.

I'm not even sure the school has any liability. It generally wouldn't for an intentional tort committed by its employee outside of his employment duties. 100k nuisance settlement to avoid continued publicity? Now, a suit against Moore would be very different. And he actually has money, so he wouldn't likely be judgment proof.

Puff Daddy is who everyone claimed Suge Knight was. Directly involved in both the deaths of Pac and Biggie. The only thing I questioned during watching it was none of these people said anything when the money was rolling in and they were living it up. They only are speaking on him now once everyone piled on and I'm sure 50 Cent was paying them to get on this documentary and trash Puff. No one did anything to stop this maniac at his height of fame.

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
Bozo_Casanova replied to Reagan1k's topic in Business and Markets
That inflation (ie the general price spike that resulted from supply shocks and massive cash stimulus) was transitory. It was the most predictable, and predicted and well understood general price spike in history, and it subsided long ago. Now you still have a ton of excess liquidity sloshing around, AND investors are rebalancing and doing some profit taking, and the FED has lowered rates (because reasons) AND youβve got tariffs in place. And all those things are inflationary. On the other hand, youβve got AI, which is probably very deflationary once it gets entrenched enough to really see the effects at scale, but we donβt know how long that is. ERP+CRM took about 7 years to destroy routine back office work, but got a big assist from the GFC. So, inside 10 years? But multiple things can be true at one time. And inflation is never evenly experienced across the economy anyway. Was inflation actually low before 2022? For example, decades of artificially low interest rates and tax stimulus, especially post GFC, essentially financed an acceleration of asset prices (like homes) with public debt, but we didnβt experience it as a general price spike because wages stayed flat* during that time and thus consumer prices for necessities were suppressed. But thatβs an artifact of measurement, not a lack of monetary inflation. Anyhow, the people who said it was transitory werenβt wrong, it wasnβt ever in question. Everything is transitory. Thatβs not the right question. The right question is where are we now. Weβll see. * mainly because the people at the very top of the economy kept more of the productivity growth and already owned more assets, while the people below the top technically received compensation increases but they mostly get diverted to healthcare costs, which in turn increased the valuations of companies in that space. -

Why, that sounds like something that would drastically affect their bottom lines (having to pay workers full wages and benefits and what not), thus being something that the GOP would never, ever, ever go for. Much better to make absolutely zero effort to resolve border issues in a bipartisan manner, keeping immigration a wedge issue, and stoking fear about drugs, human trafficking, and caravans every October. Then, waiting until an easily manipulated nincompoop takes office to have the true believers, while nationalists, and racists at the Heritage Foundation (and similar) in his ear to do our absolute worst as a country. THAT'S how you solve a border crisis.
