  1. Past hour
  2. Dammit, that sucks. I never played there but swilled many a beer by the lake on its barstools. This and Vernon's going could totally go in the Enshitification thread.
  3. Mayfield averaged 15.1 ypa in that game and Mahomes threw 88 passes. He was almost the first quarterback to hit his pitch count limit and get pulled. What an insane game.
  4. No you don't.
  5. He wasn’t a top recruit at all, he was par for the course for who they usually sign. He just turned out to be really good
  6. I wasn't overstating, but you are certainly overreacting.
  7. Did not realize that. Damn, I just looked at that backfield. Daniel Young (81 carries), Chris Warren (71), Porter (83), Toniel Carter (53). Might be the worst backfield Texas has ever fielded.
  8. particularly what? You just sort of trailed off there.
  9. What’s a good price to target for the Texas sections? $350 or lower?
  10. I can't decide if this idiotic "what's an average Texas running back?" discussion is worse, the same or better than the "should or shouldn't Arch run the ball" pedantry of the last 3 pages. I feel like both might actually be more boring than the tried and true "name the most terrible memories of Texas football" contests.
  11. More Mike Cotton
  12. the new razor thin house districts will love no mail in R votes !
  13. Well I thought all that went together man!
  14. I didn't realize this, but Danny Young was still taking up roster space in Sark's first season. https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/football/roster/daniel-young/10704
  15. I’m a poor surlyite. I’m not arguing anything just saying him missing time in season will not keep him from being drafted if he tests well. I’m on the fence he will not run a 4.2 also. I’m not even saying he should go or not. Hopefully he stays and is healthy
  16. We have different Roadhouse fantasies. I've always wanted to rip out someone's esophagus (and to play as well as Jeff Healey).
  17. Definitely. @Armybrat has to go to the library to post now.
  18. I was talking to a colleague about this the other day. His weave has gotten so bad that nobody listens to him from start to finish anymore. He’ll pop off an just announce totally wild shit off the top of his head, but because everyone turned it off 10 minutes ago, it didn’t even make the news. He weighed in on all the copyright AI lawsuits about 3 weeks ago and it just went whoosh.
  19. I forgot to mention a couple of personal victories since I last visited this thread. First, Chad Jr. got his Star at our May Court of Honor. He was elected ASPL at elections this past Monday. Second, last weekend I attended my first OA Ordeal as staff. This was my first OA event since 1988. It was also Chad Jr.'s Ordeal. Our Scoutmaster and his son were also candidates. I attended with our ASM, and two youth, all of whom passed their Ordeal in May. The upper ranks of our Troop - boys and girls - just went away during and immediately after Covid. That included OA. When Chad Jr. crossed over, we had one OA member and he wasn't terribly active. I worked to have elections in February, had a call out in March at our district camporee, and managed to get 3 adults and 7 youth in and active. We have one more adult from that election and one more youth who still need to finish their Ordeal. Not sure if they'll get across the finish line, but it won't be for me not trying.
