  1. Past hour
  2. I mean ... I've been getting cars inspected in Texas for 45 years - long enough to know that there are some pretty basic safety items that they inspect that will go uninspected now. Lights, tires, brakes, mirrors, seatbelts, tint darkness, ivalid insurance, etc. I've also been around long enough to have seen that many people will push the limits in the absence of inspections and drive cars that are unsafe to drive.

  4. This right here. If I smell shit, I’m not going in. I can hold it like a big girl until it’s fit for Christian buttcheeks. There is a sick culture of office shitting that I don’t get. I don’t understand anyone that doesn’t have enough sense to disregard feces. I don’t have words for the phone thing.
  5. Given what you've stated above, what do you think happens if fingers are snapped and there’s a Palestinian state? Who is most likely to be in charge?
  6. RURAL COUNTY VOTES TO DEFUND THE ONLY NEARBY HOSPITAL . SHOCKED THAT NEARBY HOSPITAL IS BEING DEFUNDED https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jul/26/trump-medicaid-healthcare-cuts-missouri ”For many in Pemiscot county, its emergency room is the closest available without taking a 30-minute drive across the Mississippi river to Tennessee or the state line to Arkansas, a range that can make the difference between life and death for victims of shootings, overdoses or accidents on the road” “Yet its days of serving its community may be numbered. In May, the hospital’s administration went public with the news that after years of struggling with high rates of uninsured patients and low reimbursement rates from insurers, they may have to close. And even if they do manage to navigate out of their current crisis, Pemiscot Memorial’s leaders see a new danger on the horizon: the “big, beautiful bill” Republicans pushed through Congress earlier this month, at Donald Trump’s request.” This is madness! Surely the good people of Pemiscot county did all they could at the ballot box to prevent this!….. ”Trump carried Missouri, a midwestern state that has veered sharply away from the Democratic party over the past three decades, with more than 58% of the vote last November. In Pemiscot county, where census data shows more than a quarter of residents are below the poverty line and the median income is just over $40,000 a year, he was the choice of 74% of voters, and Republican lawmakers representing the county played a notable role in steering his tax and spending bill through Congress.”
  7. ALTUVE!!! 3 RUN BOMB!
  8. Watched this last night and loved it. Really felt like you were in the JW universe.
  9. From PBS a few weeks ago
  10. And I thought you knew Silas "Crank" Bolden. Shocked face. Forget it, Jake, it's Satyanash.
  11. Painting every Palestinian as "hamas" is pretty fucked and going to keep getting in the way of ever actually talking about this. Acknowledgment of a Palestinian state doesn't mean putting hamas in charge. To the contrary, they haven't held an election in over 20 years! The Palestinian people have been protesting against hamas for ages, and have suffered brutal and oppressive crackdowns at the hands of hamas for their peaceful protests. Granting a people local governance and freeing them from hamas does not mean "rewarding hamas with state recognition". It's pretty fucking racist to say that any group of brown muslims in Palestine is "hamas". Is every white christian person from Alambama a klansman?
  12. i’ve watched nova, ucla, sparty (multiple times), unc (at least three times), uconn, wake forest, arizona, lsu, tennessee, florida, and more here in austin, and all but one of those games (unc shaka’s first year) took place ~15-20 years ago, if not more. 98% of the best non-con games i’ve gotten to be a part of happened pre-shaka. as a lifelong, die hard Texas Basketball fan, this sucks. if they do this bullshit again next year they need to slash season ticket prices. i hope that moody is empty this fall. embarrassingly so.
  13. The stupid thing is that the roughing the kicker penalty against ASU shouldn't have been called. The punter loses his rule book protections if he leaves the tackle box. The ASU punter was well outside of the box.
  14. Clifford is 21 years old and has a .863 OPS in AA. His career OPS in the minors is .833, he doesn't suck. Gilbert is 24 and has a .811 OPS in the minors this season. I'd rather give him playing time instead of fucking Cooper Hummel.
  15. Schumer has been wholly ineffective as opposition leader in the senate so if he’s able to actually accomplish this, I will give credit where it’s due
  16. Worst I've encountered: Mom, Dad, two middle school aged children, grandma, and grandpa. Every time I turned down an aisle, there they were. Saw them in the parking lot headed to the car after the family shopping spree - two fucking bags of groceries.
  17. Another Demo #31 pic previously posted by @Starscreacher
  18. Before the First Practice (Gerry) Level of Comfortability Entering Fall Camp (Wed. AM) (CJ Vogel)
  19. Why are any of us here? I have a family member that lived in Tel Aviv on 10/07. He has since left, but he gives me some interesting perspective not seen in this thread, to say the least. Your comparisons are faulty. Hamas are terrorists. No air quotes needed. Their aims have always been explicit. Rewarding them for 10/7 with a state recognition is the wrong move.
  20. Fuck me for responding to who I am responding to, but y'all should know that "in a battle with..." is routinely used as: a way to appeal to current roster members by not simply handing a job to a transfer, even if the entire intent is to have the transfer start. Similar language was just used with Endries about not yet running with the ones even though he's going to be the starting TE. It's oftentimes just a smoke show not to piss off the roster or breed entitlement and/or generate a lack of effort for the new guy. a public form of motivation for guys to step up (whether it be the incumbent starter, young, or new player) We see this shit every year.
  21. I think it's more the "What in the world is wrong with you Austin" thread.
  22. Would settle for a center fielder with at least a pistol for an arm
