  1. Past hour
  2. The Menil has one of the best collections of modern art that most museums would kill for. Also the surrounding area has some amazing galleries which showcase current artists and their works. If you area only going to the MFA, you are missing out on a ton of other great art.
  3. CJ Vogel with a recruiting update today. Someone can put the 2027 part in that thread if they give a shit.
  4. You're moving the goalposts too. There's a fuck ton to DO, but it's hard to match it up compared to a Boston or New York or Chicago to warrant a VISIT over other places. There's plenty of shit TO DO. And that works for Locals. Less so for people to visit to have to drive 30 minutes everywhere to see the Next Thing. Being an attractive Tourist Destination isn't the same thing as THINGS TO DO. Austin has great food, but I'm not sure they're going to be able to take the crown from Houston as long as our Vietnamese and Indian continue to really be huge and vibrant on the food front. But that's just IMO.
  5. no yordan this year = more caratini and diaz hitting dh / playing first. maldy is the perfect 3rd catcher for 3 months
  6. Man Ive heard some stuff I really like that are from lesser known brands. I think a few things are in play: 1. Newish companies innovating 2. Production costs decreasing due to new tech or materials 3. Realization that spend for legacy brands was heavy on the name alone Zildjian Sabian and Paiste were the gold standard for years. They make great stuff and charge great prices. Some of the newer brands sound just as good but charge far less, depending on series of course. Then, what do your ears like? That Instanbul stuff sounds great for the price point. I mean studio engineers probably want specific weights and things but the crowd at continental club won’t be able to tell a 200g ride from a 222g ride. I like the Paiste stuff but I have a ton of it too. If I was buying new gear I’d look at all the brands - fuck the name.
  7. Oh big time QB mobility, a deeper RB stable and way better long ball threat absolutely alters things dramatically. It's only logical to conclude that there might be pocket issues with the youth at OL early. Which is why @Florida concerns me more than any game prior to Georgia.
  8. The fact that we need to argue about whether there is/isnt anything to do in houston kinda answers the question. The museums are good but there are only two i would consider best in the state: mfah and natural science. The rest are either mid or are super niche to the point of lacking critical mass for acclaim or tourism. The food scene is fantastic though, but austin coming quickly for that crown
  9. Ha. I have friends all over Houston, and family in the Woodlands, and I'm glad my wife and I are on the same page; we don't need square footage nearly as much as we need a 20 minute or less commute to our jobs every day. I just don't know how the hell people do it. I'm going to push as subtly as I can for my kid to go to college out of state.
  10. Mmmmm… I get it Captain Pike. I get it.
  11. Trump has the taste of Richie Rich. Remember that this is how he decorated his NYC home, even down to having a odd murals on the ceiling. Look at all of this gold that demonstrates how successful I am.
  12. It's a safe bet we'll be downgrading at the "hurdle the defensive back" move.
  13. Agreed, but until confirmed hard to say it's equal or better than what Helm brought to the table.
  14. No, f that shiny shit. The home ND uni is the best uni.
  15. 50g is indeed a lot, and I don't think I come close. I've read 30 is good for men in their 50s, and I often consume at least that in a day. I've said before on this or other threads, but I credit my increased fiber intake with a significant drop in cholesterol.
  16. People’s needs and values change. My brother and sister-in-law live 15 minutes away from Minute Maid. I hope they never move. It’s a great place to crash when I go back to visit family, and I love the area. I’m in Leander/CP area now to be close to work (commuting in the Bay Area has traumatized me to never have a more than 30-minute commute again), and my next move, if it’s not back to Austin, is out of state at this point.
  17. Way deeper too.
  18. Well ... Sunday would be Morgan's 32nd birthday. I can sumtymes right rill goodly, so I try to put feelings and emotions in words. Go hug your kids you Surly Bastards. https://adadsjourneywitheatingdisorders.home.blog/2025/08/08/passing-times-birthdays-grief-and-morgan/
  19. Agree. And this hits close to home as I had Goode Company Campechana on Wed at lunch. The burbs aren't Houston. That sounds like a them problem, sir.
  20. I agree. And with all the talk about the OL their run blocking was atrocious at times, pass pro fell a part at times and QB mobility also contributed. I think Arch will makes those better, sum of the parts sort of thing. I do think he will have some timing issues in the pocket I think the game hasn’t fully slowed down for him yet, I think he will struggle with complex reads at times but FUCK what college QB doesn’t? As long as those aren’t at the absolute wrong time in the wrong game we will be fine.
  21. Louis CK has some tips for you.
  22. Everything I'm hearing (and I don't pay $9.95) is that we may be upgrading over Helm at TE.
  23. Famous play... Keith Jackson on the call 🤘 Love this pic of Selvin #22 breaking free... 🤘
