  2. I mentioned this last year and got smoked for it but the vast majority of the OL/DL that were responsible for the 2023-24 playoff runs were Herman recruits. Sweat, Murphy, Collins, Broughton, Sorrell, Jones, Majors, Conner. Sark and staff did not ID and eval any of those. Kelvin Banks is the obvious exception but I don't know that you get a lot of credit for that eval, everyone in the country had an offer in and he was a stud from day one. Fortunately it does look like the ability to evaluate and develop from start to finish is there on the DL side, which is impressive given coaching turnover. And certainly Flood did good work with Jones and Majors (less so Conner). But the career arcs of DJ Campbell, Cole Hutson, and Cam Williams are the first returns we have on Flood's ability to evaluate/develop his own guys and they are... a mixed bag. Campbell and Williams are/were both inconsistent and undisciplined, Cole Hutson is just bad. Goosby looks pretty solid at LT. I think you can cut Baker some slack as a second year guy, I don't even know if he's 20 years old yet. Campbell is another one who could have gone wnywhere in the country but his development, while not completely absent, does leave you wanting more. The rest of Flood's recruits either don't look great after several years or can't get on the field over guys that don't look great after several years. I don't know that we have proof of concept that we can actually evaluate OL talent.
  3. This will never be forgotten. Ted Cruz can carry this now that he is whitewashing things on this.
  4. You aren't getting my google login.
  5. Goddamn..... I'm currently road tripping through Colorado and flush with edibles, but the visual of BB's uncle straining on the shitter in direct sight of a Thanksgiving dinner party slayed me.

  7. lots of bleeps tonight.
  8. Theta Burger from Society Burger in Tulsa earlier this evening for dinner: Theta Burger history: https://thefooddoodfeed.substack.com/p/thetas-secret-to-taking-new-york My son ordered their scratch made jalapeno and cheese tater tots and they were top notch:
  9. There are often times when I am a shithead. I hope that the times I am not a shithead greatly outweigh the times I am. I don't have a podcast to broadcast all the moments I am a shithead and I am grateful for that. I keep coming back to this. The people who demonize him are right some of the time. The people who lionize him some of the time are also right some of the time. The problem in my mind is the rush to the extremes of demonization and lionizationfor flawed human beings. He shouldn't have been shot. He also should not have said a lot of the shitty things he said. There is a saying that, "who you are some of the time, is who you are all of the time." That saying is flawed because we vacillate between our dark side and our light side. The reality is who we are is who we are. I wish that future leaders, and for better or worse, Kirk was a leader, will keep in mind that people will attribute every action they take to those extremes. Drunk thoughts on a Sunday evening.
  10. Either that or they had to do their best impression of Steven from Django Unchained. You can’t tell me that David Clarke met any sort of meaningful requirements other than “appeal to racists, morons and conspiracy nuts.”
  11. This means a Western has to have things like the black hat, the Indian attack, the piano + brawl in the saloon and others.
  12. Its rare to see the combination of such a well-conceived plan together with flawless execution. I commend their professionalism.
  13. Is he actually becoming self aware?
  14. Shit, I feel MORE confident when I see a black person in a position of responsibility/authority…because you know their ass had to not only meet the requirements, but also overcome bullshit at every crucial point in their career while being careful to not piss off the bigots.
  15. When I think about the leadership in Kerr County, the first thing my mind jumps to is DEI.
  16. For those who didn't see it, Whitney Lauenstein, the transfer from Nebraska, before the season last year, got in the match late in the 3rd set with it pretty much out of reach.
  17. The alcohol thing is so dumb. Obviously it's barely worth addressing because of the nature of the rumor, but we'd all go to the mat defending the case for Vince Young as the GOAT of college QBs. I'm sure he developed that drinking habit after college, right?
  18. I’d forgotten that Charlie weighed in on the Central Texas flooding just one month before he was killed. Asked how many more kids died because of DEI and Austin’s black fire chief. https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/right-wing-podcaster-blames-austin-fire-chief-and-dei-for-flood-deaths-amidst-union-vote
  19. Release the manifesto @ztejas
  20. Do you want the vid too? Since @immamac appears to be offline for the rest of the night.
  21. I truly do not know what they offer. When I was young I used to think it was fiscal. But as time passed, and each R ran us into recession after recession, I realized I am not exactly sure what the draw is. My only conclusion is identity politics, but I've been assured by so many that isn't it.
  22. I hate their approach. Good feet should be the first thing you look for
  23. Finished except for staining after the pt wood dries (forgot to take a pic after roof). 18 more eggs in the incubator tonight. Wife said I can stop building pens/coops when I’m dead.
