I'm pretty sure the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard got teleported to Newport News in 1943. It was some World War II experiment, I guess to spread out heavy industry across the Atlantic Seaboard. I'm pretty sure it was called the Move A Shipyard To Newport News To Impress Churchill Experiment.

Not to be an asshole but what kind of season were you expecting with mostly all new offensive starters including the most important positions on a team and also one of the youngest teams in the country. We’re 6-2 for gods sake. We’ve looked like shit sometimes and pretty good at other times like a young team. I’ve seen some senior teams look like shit all year and don’t have a 6-2 record to this point. I would think we were winless looking for a new coach if I didn’t watch the games and read this site.

Yeah, get just a little ways out of the city/industrial areas, it's kinda nice. Not sure it's cheap, though.

Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah (by a 22 YO groyper)TexArcher replied to msbesq's topic in Cloak Room Yeah, all these pearl-clutching right wingers trying to take the moral high ground, like, "How can you be so heartless to say mean things about Charlie? He had a family! Have some respect for the deceased." Go look up what Charlie Kirk said about MLK, of all people, you mindless parrots. I'm not saying that Charlie deserved to die for being a racist, sexist, lying, pseudointellectual windbag who was bad for this country. He did not. But his death does not make any of that stuff any less true.

Yea we have a few AI threads that all are addressing the same things. We should pick one and stick with it.

Also three years to turn around Nebraska? Man they really are now permanently among the class of mid programs.

Yeah, I'm in commercial real estate and negotiate commercial leases pretty much daily. And enforce them as well when necessary. In fact, dealing with a similar situation where we anticipate a breach by a very large retail tenant. They have vacated and while they continue to pay rent, they were recently acquired by a large VC firm who is notorious for defaulting and litigating. They have offered a pitiful termination offer (roughly $030 on the dollar). Their rent is way above market. We've told them to get fucked. Well I have specifically. They have threatened to declare bankruptcy which would allow them to reject the lease outright, but their financial profile doesn't really allow for that. So we are prepared to go to battle on this. And we should prevail. In this case, UCLA has absolutely no real grounds to terminate. While we would have an obligation to mitigate by finding a replacement tenant, thereby reducing the tenant's obligation, the Rose Bowl really doesn't have that option. There are no potential replacement tenants. I see no way UCLA prevails. And there very likely is an attorneys' fees clause which would require the prevailing party to be reimbursed for it out of pocket costs to enforce.

Ain’t no way that’s happening. The Bengals game showed just how flawed they are. The game with the Colts this week could get pretty damned ugly. I said earlier in the season that I came around to Rogers as QB but, they can’t protect him. About 15 years ago at a lunch in NYC while at the Big East Tournament I was sitting with Billy Fralic and we were talking about the Steelers, Roethlisberger, etc. I said that Roethlisberger was such a freak that the line didn’t have to, or wouldn’t, be upgraded. I said, put Brady behind teh Steelers offensive line and he’d be out of football. I also said, put Roethlisberger behind the Patriots offensive line and they would still win Super Bowls. Brady would have been beaten to a pulp if he played behind the Steelers offensive line. Billy said that he never thought about it that way and that I made sense.

Yeah, as ctj said, it's hard to imagine that a concussed, fuzzy-headed Arch is an improvement. But his failure to date is so bizarre that anything is possible, I suppose.

Cover 3 bros (why do I still even listen to them) say LSU is top 3 and Texas is top 5. Their rationale is LSU has won 3 titles with 3 different coaches all pretty recently. I couldn't argue with them there. LSU does seem like plug-and-play and I don't think I can say the same for UT.

ChatGPT AI Tool— We all work for robots nowTwiceHorn replied to 956 Worldwide's topic in Daily Texan One sort of positive here is that the executive lacks the ability to immediately change the copyright law, to "intervene" in AI cases. And, even though this executive loves to assert power he lacks, he would have to do so in courts of law, where thus far, he has been least effective, other than on the shadow docket at SCOTUS. They're going to have a hell of a time getting private-party copyright cases on the shadow docket at SCOTUS.
