  1. Past hour
  2. So Hell means being with all of those who "thought" they were Christians? Damn, maybe I do believe in Heaven now.
  3. Hell is not about dispensing man's retribution for what other men did on earth. It’s eternal separation from God because of failure to accept Jesus‘s sacrifice for our sins, and the only unforgivable sin is knowingly rejecting that sacrifice. Knowing that God forgives what I consider to be unforgivable is the toughest thing about being a Christian in my opinion.
  4. Idaho is a quick 3 hour drive away and within its state lines live some real nutbars. Beautiful natural resources though....
  5. mackholm was definitely an internet troll
  6. I don’t know why but this comment made me think of that veep episode where Gary’s dad says “Jesus, Mary, and Robert E Lee, Gary!” They’ll replace Lee with Kirk.
  7. My bottom line is not to trust those who support a convicted criminal that tries to overturn a legal election and appoints incompetent morons to positions of power. Simple as that, like it or not.
  8. Well lucky for you we got our top men on it... Top...Men...
  9. So if we have no real physical description at this point, the break is going to have to come from the shooter either being a real loud mouth about intentions online or in person, or have failed in keeping traceable electronics off their person, right?
  10. That's likely an artifact from your browser. The favicon for all of the forum is the same and the favicon for the admin/other surly properties is the other. Helps me identify tabs when doing admin stuff.
  11. For the most part, I've stayed away from the two threads pertaining to Kirk. They've gone the way I expected them to go, pretty much as you've succinctly stated above. One of the things noticed, both here and elsewhere in media (social and otherwise) are the number of people who talk about how angry they are, one described it as 'seething.' The term one uses after the loss of someone one cares about is mourning. We mourn the loss of whatever connection we had with them--right down to the most basic: they were a human being akin to us through the birth of one of our own species. The *Sandy Hook parents who lost their children; they mourned all that was and all that would never be. If the feeling one has right after this event is rage and revenge and hate, then perhaps some reflection is in order so that one might examine exactly what this person meant to oneself. If this person was essentially an agent for beliefs in which one shared, then looking around for the opposite in which to unleash those baser instincts will be easy enough, but therein is the paradox. Mourning requires that one treat death with respect. Looking for ways in which to perpetrate more of it is the direct opposite. *Sandy Hook was obviously one of many such tragedies, but there were so so many deaths...until the next one came along.
  12. We have different ideas of what merits the man of God descriptor. He was peaceful while he spoke. His message was not. What was that about political violence being the sole province of the left?
  13. Goddamn, even the UK is taking the Epstein files more seriously than the Party https://edition.cnn.com/2025/09/11/uk/peter-mandelson-uk-ambassador-fired-intl London — Peter Mandelson was fired as Britain’s ambassador to the United States on Thursday after his ties to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became another unwelcome problem for the embattled Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Mandelson had been under mounting pressure over his relationship with Epstein after US lawmakers on Monday released a “birthday book,” compiled for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003, in which the veteran Labour party politician had penned a handwritten note describing Epstein as “my best pal.” Despite the revelation, Starmer forcefully defended his ambassador on Wednesday, telling parliament that Mandelson had his “full confidence.” Hours later, the scandal snowballed after Bloomberg published a trove of emails between Mandelson and Epstein, in which Mandelson expressed support for his friend and offered to discuss his infamous 2008 Florida case with his political contacts. Epstein pleaded guilty to two state prostitution charges and served 13 months in prison after a controversial plea deal. But the emails obtained by Bloomberg showed that Mandelson continued to support Epstein after that conviction.
  14. Got damn you're fucking dumb. What the fuq you think the poster meant?
  15. Was kawai underpaid by market value? 3-4 years ago was 30-35 million market for the top nba players? I don’t remember because we’re now in the 60-70M per year. Should he have been earning in the 40s, near 50?
  16. Why does the Daily Texan have its own different longhorn icon next to its forum name? All the other forums match the CR tab on the left with the surly logo? More just curious than anything.
  17. It’s a damn shame how successful these attacks were.
  18. Heaven forbid we talk about the hateful words and works of a man when the nation is bending over backwards to honor a Jan6 planner and virulent racist. He literally bussed in the guy that was attacking a cop with a fire extinguisher on Jan6, and we're putting flags at half staff. It's absurd that he is being lionized. It's mourning an arsonist that burned down in his own fire. The murder is wrong and evil, and is only going to encourage an even stronger response from the Party that was taking their rhetorical cues on which group to target next from Kirk and TPUSA
  19. Kirk specifically indoctrinated students on college campuses. Education in general is the radical lefts equivalent. They painted Obama as divisive, and he got everybody affordable healthcare. So of course they’d paint Obama as a radical black Muslim and celebrate his death.
