  1. Seriously. I love that the SUPPOSED counterweight to what they THINK “DEI” is, is “only merit-based hiring!” Yet the only “merit” that any of these people have is: willing to deepthroat Trump’s mushroom dick and gargle the gravy. Seriously, the resume of most of his cabinet appointments is utterly embarrassing. They are wildly unqualified for the actual job, but they score 100 on the “cum chugging Trump loyalist” scale.
  2. ….and also fucking delicious. Don’t forget that. As Pollo Rico and the like have expanded, I’ve gotten my wife hooked.
  3. Let me know when. So we can subscribe you to the physical version of Cat Facts.
  4. Fuck yeah. Would be cooler for Easter if you cooked it on one of those cabrito crucifixes:
  5. Man, green beans and new potatoes were a real Texas/southern thing. My mother loved em, would make em, and would even buy and serve them from the can. Like these, but Del Monte (don’t think they make them anymore): And yeah, great/classic Texas bbq was not that common. There were a handful of small-town bbq places that were and sometimes still are classics, but it wasn’t nearly as ubiquitous as it is now. Frankly, food as a whole was much simpler. Sushi? My dad told me about eating it on a trip to San Francisco. I was 26 the first time I actually tried it (and my family was generally WAY ahead of the curve on trying new/exotic things - we ate at a lot of Asian restaurant places on our side of Houston where we would be the only non-Asians there, but today…all of those places would be pretty mainstream). Butter with saltines or tortillas was absolutely a S. Tx Mexican food mainstay.
  6. F you, man…cheap chicken leg quarters on the grill is where happiness is found, esp when you’re in your “we’re on a budget” years.
  7. Do you understand the Trump base? Posting shit like that IS a good idea. They love it because - oh, the irony of this post title - they’re fucking children.
  8. That is actually how every single Trump supporter, include every Republican voter on this board, thinks. See, it’s really everyone else’s fault that they had to support Trump. “You made me do this!” screams the abusive psychopath.
  9. Stupid easy. Fall: it’s not balls-hot, football, hunting, gumbo time.
  10. It’d be a damn shame if someone sent him there. And realize how fucked up this is: it’s apparent that we really miss the sane, decent, and moderating influence that used to keep Alito somewhat in check: Scalia.
  11. The awkward part was when you told her “say it again…but slower.”
  12. A whole lot of this. It’s a counterpart to the strategy of loudly moaning with pleasure when they aggressively pat you down. You can fake sounding orgasmic when they touch you. I mean, I don’t have to fake it, but you can.
  13. Laughed…but didn’t dispute.
  14. I mean, I don't doubt that "saving their jobs" is part of it, but the current setup is pure blackmail -- either the district has to nuke the underperforming school, or the state will nuke the whole district. If I were the most altruistic board member AISD has ever seen, I would still opt for nuking Dobie to avoid the state coming in and running an HISD on the district, fucking over EVERYONE. Not commenting on whether the plan to consolidate with Lamar is the best path to accomplish that, but "nuke Dobie, save AISD" was the only rational path here.
  15. Love it. Love it. Dude is my speed. HATE IT. I hate that "steamed crawfish" ever became a thing. I don't know how it did, the first I ever heard of it was 30 years ago or so, and I thought it was just as shitty then as I do now. You end up with 1) overseasoned shells and 2) unseasoned meat. Sorry, I know more and more people are doing it that way....but every last one of them is wrong, wronger than if they got in a magic wrongifying machine set to maximum wrongness. Boil your crawfish in properly seasoned water. There. That's the whole gotdamn recipe.
  16. I've always been prepared to do that. I do not enable any biometrics. I will not give my passcode, as doing so would allow access to my email and other portals through which I have client communications and materials. If they say "if you don't allow us access, we'll just seize your phone," I'll say "cool, have it." Because 1) I can go buy a new one for $1k, 2) unless they have REALLY good reason to access my phone (and they really won't), it's not worth the cost and time to try to break into it, and 3) I'll send a nice piece of correspondence to CBP and the DOJ before the day is out informing them that they seized a device that has attorney-client privileged material on it, and as the know, that requires them to take certain steps to insure that any access they obtain does not intrude on the privilege. And then I'll go buy a new phone.
  17. @Anastasis supports this. See, the US was meddling too much, so the right thing to do is 1) declare a complete and total trade war against literally every other country on the planet, and 2) "be fiscally responsible" by slashing the fraction of a percent of our budget that actually translated into saving millions of lives at an incredibly low ROI. And if you criticize the Trump Regime for doing this, you have "brain worms," and are "blinded by politics."
  18. "From a liability perspective" is an unknown. For example, if the Contractor finds out that one of his subs F'd up the hookup, the most negligent party would be that sub. If a shitheel neighbor snuck in and turned the propane on because he's pissed at the new homeowner, the primary legal responsibility would fall on the shitheel neighbor. But PRACTICALLY speaking, if the risk had not yet shifted, it's going to be on the Contractor and his insurance. If they can figure out somewhere else to point the finger so maybe the cost load is shared, then they will.
  19. Dude....it's that black president that fucking broke this country. So, yeah, you're spot-on. Seriously, white America can't stop saying "what are you bitching about, you even got a black president!"....when electing that black president is what COMPLETELY broke their fucking brains. Sure, the "it all started" moment for this modern christo-fascist racist movement was well before then, but 2008 was the moment of irrevocable acceleration. Electing a black man was a bridge too far, and they were and are willing to destroy this fucking country just to make sure that nothing like that EVER happens again. It's literally what they are doing as we speak.
  20. FIF accuracy. If you were to poll the planet on who is the "most untrustworthy potential partner," we'd be approaching the top of that list. One of the greatest components of the value of any enterprise is "goodwill," which is made up of trust, respect, reliability, and the like. In almost every possible way, in almost every possible venue, in almost every possible aspect of our dealings with other people, we have nuked every one of those things. The damage can never be repaired, and our nation will be significantly poorer for it for generations.
  21. That whole scene gets a straight-up 10 on the "SETX meter."
  22. Demonizing all the browns is the play for these fucking evil fucksticks. And has been. For a long fucking time. Find a crime committed by a brown. Impute that crime to all browns, call all browns "invaders" and "vermin" who are "poisoning the blood of our country." Which is exactly how you get this: And this: This is absolutely all going according to plan: terrorize the brown population (cuz they ain't real 'muricans, none of 'em), force them to self-deport, flee, segregate from the rest of society (read: hide, so they don't get fucking nabbed, beaten, or shot -- by the cops or by functionally deputized supporters of the regime who are doing their patriotic duty by getting the mud people out of our country one way or the other). That play is, of course, the exact play that society ran on black people in the Jim Crow era. Terrorizing and demonizing a group is a time-honored play, with known, predictable, inhuman and bloody outcomes. And....this part is important: America has proven, over and over again, that as a whole, we are a-ok with it. You either resist it and fight against it, or you're fucking okay with it. Yeah, it's that fucking binary.
  23. It was completely made up, and the first time it was even uttered was by Nazi Barbie press secretary cuntcrust. It is a complete fabrication, with no support in any record, finding....anything. It is -- as most things in Trumpland are -- just a fucking lie. And yeah, see the cite above....just shit that was never found or adjudicated. At all. By anyone.
  24. We need these guys first:
  25. A pardoned Jan 6th Congressional candidate rabble rouser. The details are important to provide clarity as to how truly fucky a timeline we're in.
