the sideline reporter is talking about marquette’s “mental weight training”, aka the breathing exercises that they do before and after every game, as well as during media timeouts. i didn’t realize they still did this shit lol.

golden eagle (-5.5) down 39-34 at the half vs dayton.

Yeah, Ive had this game on sort of halfway paying attention. This MU team doesnt have any shooters, so they are gonna struggle in the chuck-a-three offense Shaka favors. gonna switch over to the bama/ill game, which should be an order of magnitude more entertaining.

lmao, marquette got the ball last, called TO, drew up a play with 14 seconds left, and then never got a shot off. overtime.

perfect opportunity to practice more mental weight training

dayton keeps running the right plays/actions to score only to screw it up.

sick block by the dayton guard.

airball three from marquette lol.

y’all hear that? 99% of you fat losers believe that the last thing that happened to you defines you. but not shaka and his boys. they’re already mindfully meditating their future into existence. they are the 1%.

here we go. this is the shaka we all know and megaloathe.

“practice resulting”; “approach goals”; “connectivity and flow.” there’s never been a more pompous or aggravating coach at Texas. he somehow carries this air of “i’m smarter than everyone else and that’s why you don’t understand what i’m doing” when in reality he’s got zero substance and is all about cool buzz words and empty catchphrases. absolute fraud.

It annoys me that this thread gets more action than our actual 25-26 Texas thread, and that our game threads have 15 posts.

The Duke game went 9 pages. Early season college basketball when teams are playing dogshit programs is one of the least interesting things in sports.

He is the basketball head coach version of a Bain consultant.  nothing of substance will get done but it will sound cool and you get paid a shitload of money even when you fail.

Yup. That MBA psychobabble vacuousness wears thin when results aren’t there. Even for people who want to believe

Or played on a Saturday morning during football season. Eyes were elsewhere

Did any Texas fan go to the Marquette board 4 years ago and warn them what was coming.  because that's what fans are supposed to do.  Maybe they didn't have a board.  I am just looking for a "Texas fans told us what was coming" post because I am a bad person.

"practice resulting" lmfao. I want to adopt that into everyday usage as well. Shaka needs his own reality show. It would make an amazing workplace comedy. Ricky Gervais and Mike Schur are jealous they didn't think of "practice resulting" first.

It is still football season, and we are playing scrub teams. I imagine the thread on Monday for the ASU game will have 16 posts.

All of that is fair, but it also seems like a lot of our fans are more interested in rooting against our former coach than learning about and watching our current team.  This team has a shot to make some noise IMO and yet there is almost zero excitement around the new coach and team.

Lol even funnier when you realize Shaka was 3 coaches ago.  Not like its last year's coach and the wounds are still fresh.

I think every Texas fan is eager to see how Miller and the new regime settle in. They seem to be on the right track already. But to me, our ongoing fan "interest" in Shaka is because of just how massive a fraud he continues to be.

The guy failed at least as spectacularly as Terry but then was given a free pass by media still trying to paint him as a great coach who got a raw deal from us ignorant ingrates at Texas. If the media would instead start portraying the guy as the overrated charlatan he actually is, I'd feel far less inclined to keep celebrating his stumbles.
