When I encounter this, which is sadly frequent, I usually just go along with it and hit em with aggie slop like “Man you think Taurean York ends up going in the first round? Probably second round latest”  and “Realistically, how many teams on the schedule are actually more talented than the Ags?” This usually results in them essentially speaking TexAgs out loud to me and hopefully increases the height of the rollercoaster and makes the October setback hurt even more.

Arguing with or getting angry at an aggie is as productive as arguing and/or getting upset with flat earth idiots or Scientology person (Scientologist?). Their myths and rhetoric is so ingrained into their minds that all you end up doing is wasting time and energy. Just ignore them, nod at their comments, and get away from them as soon as possible.

Sure, aggie Chad, I get it. Your thetan guided you to college station because aggie grads basically stormed the beach alone in Normandy. Of course Sul Ross was a hero for being the first to debunk the myth of a round planet and is an amazing human being.

We just swept them, and we are losers?  Ah the mental gymnastics.

They can and always will live vicariously through the victory of others over the Longhorns because... that's their only option.

Is that anything like me remembering parking under I-35 and every bar on 6th street playing James Brown songs for our Qb.  There was a sand volleyball court at one place. dollar draft beers and watching ladies strip to play.  Fun times but I've got MS now and my left side doesn't work. Aggy, who knows or wants too.

Didn't Aussie's start out on 6th street? I definitely recall some volleyball courts 1 or 2 in the back area of a bar... but... it was the 90s and I've had a head injury or 2 since.

I believe so. Or maybe I'm having false memory

Aussies has been south of Town Lake since at least 1998.

Where you been man? "So many" have taken notice!

I haven't seen what the fuck he's jabbering about, but I'm sure his account of "so many" is easily substantiated.

If his description is accurate, who wouldn't be outraged that whatever he watched showed the Sooner Schooner as though that was a symbol equal to the toxic demon sign of the ebil Longhorns of t.u.?

Wow, only Aggy could find an issue with that commercial. We were featured for 2-3 seconds of a 30 second video? Why wouldn't they promote their largest brand and top money team some?

And, @Getafix , a real thank you sir. It's truly appreciated. Means a lot coming from a fellow Horn.

Southeastern Conference TV Spot, 'More Than Ever'

https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ffKq/southeastern-conference-more-than-ever

They show or name something emblemizing several schoosl. Anchor down. The schooner. Wooing. All of this even though they start with a statement about the new size of the SEC (t.u. and OU).

ETA: Plus, you've got to wonder how the SEC promotions department reacted to this:

I've never seen such a promotional video asserting that everybody is frighted by the school being promoted. You may see a td scored against a rival with no mention of the rival and that's about it. Fucking idiots.

I popped over to see. First to the Beginning of the Horns Downfall thread:

The ensign here knows that records against a common opponent are far more important than head-to-head contests. He earned his AgTag.

Here's the thread lead on ratings. Not much stupidity other than what ever this means. When their eloquence escapes me...

Aggie logic ties me up and rapes me. The duh duh duh. The dah dah dah....

They (aggys) have tons of movies. It's just that ATM ass to mouth isn't really what they hoped for.

Isn't it, though?

Ensign knows that aggy was playing their best in Fayetteville but not in Austin, and he also knows that Texas was playing its best both in Austin against them and in Fayetteville.  It couldn’t be that we are in the doldrums right now, but still had enough to sweep them at home.

They say we fielded the last all white MNC team as though college football were fully integrated everywhere else. Therefore, DKR is a racist. They like to gather round the Sul Ross statue to discuss our devotion racists in our history.

1 Your audience has no idea what you're talking about or how to pronounce that word. That you can spell it throws suspicion on your own Aggiehood.

2 Found in abundance at places where inane tradition trumps all. Thank goodness inane tradition doesn't fit your model. It's the huge proportion of actual soldiers and farmers who have attended A&M for the last 50 years that are the root of your problem.

3 I believe this falls under hopeless traditions. Hide-bound, inane traditionalist (claiming to be farmers and soldiers) morons regularly fail at searches for the right guy.

One of Roma's shorter explanations ... but, gotdamn that No #1 kills it for me.  I've read it at least 30 times and it's still pure greatness! Thanks, RV.

Not to defend Aggies in any way, as my time in College Station as a Horn was not particularly pleasant, but I was a TA in a class at A&M with around two dozen football players during the Slocum glory years. We were having some discussion and one player gave his opinion on something from the back of the room (side note: probably not Terrence Kiel, father of A&M's current left fielder, who was in the class but who I don't recall ever saying anything).

Bethel Johnson, who later ranked second in KO returns for New England as a rookie, was sitting in the front row. I remember being slightly stunned when he turned around and called over his shoulder, "But that's just YOUR paradigm, man."

Bethel was pretty funny and seemed like both a decent and intelligent guy. Got a couple of Super Bowl rings with the Patriots, played a bit for Minnesota, and signed with but didn't do anything for three other NFL teams -- the last of them being the Texans in 2007.  I just looked him up on LinkedIn and it seems he's a self-employed business consultant in Arlington. Not much on his page, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's doing well.

TL/DNR version: Bethel used a big word correctly, but still, to hell with A&M.

A good friend’s son entered the U. Of Washington at age 15, graduated at 19, then earned his Doctorate at 21.
A STEM field major too, I don’t recall which one.
