It’s funny cuz I met a bunch of Surlies in real life. all my pals.  I am not trying to date one, I have a BF and he is like an honorary surly. As far as attention I will never live down my non-sober years, and have been sober since 4/24/22. Drinking was my vice. I do gummies now and then and occasional pre-roll. I destroyed some of my life back then.

I root for sark. In this regard as a person. He also has enormous talent. And his demons have gotten in the way in the past at other places and that is not a rumor that is a fact. He sued USC when they fired him for being drunk saying he had a disability and they didn’t help him. All facts.

all of this a matter of public record and it is not in dispute.
I have heard from multiple people that I trust that he has NOT conquered his demons here at Texas whatsoever. This season and his slap dick approach to the offseason as well coincides with other places he has worked and had “issues.” He’s not a choir boy. He met L’Oreal before he was divorced. A good friend of mine who’s known her well over a decade advised her not to chase him at the time. He was married. She did anyway. All facts.

No matter whether the rumors about L’Oréal or Sark are being unfaithful to each other outside their marriage multiple names have been brought up on both sides and some connected to our fucking team. Does that sound professional and or winning a MNC to you?

If you do not think the above has any bearing on our win loss record or recruiting or evaluating talent cool. That fine. But I think if you also knew with your own eyes this shit to be true you would absolutely agree it has an affect on everything that a HC would do.

It’s not about someone who drinks this is someone who considers himself a recovering alcoholic in his own words and he cannot drink. And when he does he loses his jobs. In the past.

no one has to believe any of the above ever at all. It’s been told to you so you don’t get blindsided if major changes are made and he is gone or he stays and major changes are forced on his ass. That’s the reality. Like it or don’t like it your choice.

So Sark is fucking a player?

Nope Lane is 5-4 in bowl game wins and Sark is 4-5 with 2 of those coming last year. Lane has never even won a Holiday bowl, much less 2 of them. Both over blue blood Nebraska in 2010 and 2014 at Washington and USC respectively.

I cannot answer that. Ole Miss seems to really want to keep him. When has he won  a major game as a HC though? A big one? Has he bested the best coaches? Sark has bested some damn fine coaches but with other good HCs  he is their bitch.

Kiffin is a desirable HC candidate to some people simply because of his personality, not because of what his teams have actually done on the field. The guy has never won a championship or even played for a conference title at any point in his career as a HC.

Yes but Lane coached at a first tier school (as referenced up top) and Aark has slummed it most of his career at…checks notes……UW and USC

The career mirroring between Sark and Kiffin is pretty wild. Sark has the 1 BiG XII title and 1 SEC appearance above Lane but otherwise, they are remarkably similar with a nod of success going toward Sark outside this year. Those that want to keep Sark and hope for change, fine. Those that want him fired and replaced by Lane baffle my logic buttons.

At Texas: .613 (45 wins, 20 losses)

It's not quite the same animal, I don't think, as Mack's highly touted recruits that just disappeared or busted.  Or Herman's.

I have been saying for a couple of years now, it's like he overestimates what his players can routinely do.  And you're saying it too.

I've asked myself "well is it really just that his player suck?" and the answer to that is mostly no, I think.

There's some kind of weird disconnect there.

Lol.. you do know Kiffin also coached at USC and Washington is essentially equivalent to resources, history and success as Old Miss.

Career: 116-53 .686

Tennessee 2009 7-6 .538 (Kiffin Stepped in after the massive mess Fulmer left and still got them to a bowl game)

LANE: USC 2010–2013 28-15 .651

(SARK: USC 12 wins and 6 losses .667 winning percentage)

Florida Atlantic 2017–2019 26-13 .667

Lane at Ole Miss 2020–present 55-19 .743

Sark at Texas (2021–present): 45 wins and 20 losses (.692 winning percentage as of November 2025)

Sark has 4 bowl wins: Holiday bowl vs Nebraska x 2, Clemson and ASU.

Loses: Baylor, Boise State, Washington, Washington, OSU

Lane has 5 bowl wins: Akron, UAB, Indiana, PSU, Syracuse

Losses: VT, GT, Baylor, Texas Tech

Because C-USA championships are what every HC wants as their hallmark achievement after having multiple HC stints at the power conference level like Lane has had.

i think he has a pretty solid floor. I like him as a college offensive mind over Sark. I think he would win 10 games pretty regularly at Texas, not sure a see him ripping off NCs. He would be fun though. Not sure how you look at FAU and say he was mid there. This is not a case of winning at Houston, where you are the biggest fish in a small puddle.

I put out the career stats on the last page of both in stats, put up the bowl records, and put up his time at Ole Miss vs Sark at Texas.

The results are remarkably similar. Neither has won an SEC title. They have a total of 3 conference championships between them. They are both close to .500 in bowls. They both have some big wins and inexcusable losses to subpar teams. They both seem to lose in the biggest games they play.

They truly are mirrors of one another in career metrics.

Want to read those metrics and come to the opinion that Lane has a lower floor, I will acknowledge I can see why you come to that conclusion. However, I would counter with they do appear, based on all measurable data, to have a similar ceiling.

I think that is a mistake. Comparing Ole Miss to Texas should insult you as a Texas fan. The expectation and resources are different at both schools. None of it means Kiffin would rip off 4 NCs, but lets not pretend winning 10 games at Texas is the same as winning 10 games at Ole Miss.

Who'd be in your Top 5?

I'd enjoy having Kiffin for the trolling and snark alone. But, I also think he's a better offensive mind and game day coach than Sark is, too. Just my opinion. Plus, think of how much harder it is to build a program at Ole Miss vs Texas.

Its a team in the SEC, it's the data we have to go on. Lane isn't who I would pick. You like Lane fantastic. I prefer a proven winner at the highest level. Does that mean we will get one, history says no. There is an entire thread about the future coach. My entire premise is Lane is mid and more importantly I think Sark should be gone.

That is it. That's all. Thats why I'm not posting in the next head coach thread.

Probably.

Lane somehow gets QBs that are fast as shit and throw decent as well. Lane allows for audibles to find holes in defense and the QB and WR to adjust plays on the fly. I’m hoping he goes to Florida.

No.

She has been rumored to have messed with former players at UT.

he has been rumored to have messed with a family member of a CURRENT player on our team. A Jane not Tarzan ok.

I cannot provide all  the requisite proof I would need. hence rumors but these are credible RUMORS. Because of who told them to me.

My friend who knows her well knows about the infidelity. My friend has  unimpeachable bonafides. And this is why many in the circle of friends close to the Sark’s a circle that none of us are in doubted the timing of L’Oreal’s pregnancy. I ain’t going out on that limb. I think the affairs are real and L’Oreal wanted a child for a long time. She posted as much on her instagram. IMO child is most likely Sark’s. I don’t have a paternity test (duh) but people who know them both doubted the timing of it because of things they KNEW were going on.

But it’s bad enough that the names of at least 3 players one current and two former are connected to he and his wife in whatever revenge fucking or whatever the fuck this shit is or isn’t. The gossip is bad. Not worth typing out. And that sucks. Just the mere hint of it and the fact multiple people talked about it online last year was bad enough. I ignored most of it until it seemed to bleed into our current offseason and season.

I trust my friend. Y’all don’t have to trust me or my friend. The gossip though is what’s bad. That’s fucked. It’s worse when you hear this shit from multiple fucking people you know. Not some bullshit online or Reddit crap. Actual people I know that I can verify who they are and their connection to stuff. Fuck.

Wait...are we saying Sark doesn't allow Arch and his QBs to call audibles based on the defense's alignment?

If so, that's foolish, borderline idiotic. Even with today's mic'ed up technology, allowing direct communication with the OC.

How many of his 55 wins at ole Miss are against teams like The Citadel? Texas has never played teams like that and it’s essentially a free win or two every year. It may not move the needle a ton but it pads the win column the longer you stay in the sec.
