Red Raider degenerates on Twitter are pissed they can't throw their tortillas anymore. Brett Yormark has become persona non grata in the hub city.

This has lead to a plethora of tweets saying "fuck the Big 12, Campbell needs to get us into the SEC." Lol these goons think they can buy their invitation. I also don't think it's going to end well with this Cody Campbell character. The football team and fans seem to treat him as some unlimited piggy bank. I imagine he'll get sick of that shit after awhile.

Why the ever living fuck do they need to be throwing shit on the field during gametime? Oh yeah, it's 2025, and being a complete asshole about literally everything is considered a virtue.

Their offense is really nice, but their defense is trash, like really bad, especially on the ground. They straight up cannot stop the run. The only thing they really have going for them is their schedule after the next 2 games being cake. If I was Kirby Smart & Georgia, I wouldn't throw a single pass tomorrow until they proved they could stop the run.

They were extremely lucky to beat Washington State at home this past week, a bounce or two the wrong way and they've got one of the worst losses in CFB this season.

I'm just not buying them as a true contender.

You know, honestly, that would actually be the most hilarious thing ever if they didn't even attempt a pass and win by 21. I will probably die of fucking laughter.

Really sucks. Hoping it's minor surgery and he'll be back by the postseason. He's been one of the highest grading DTs in the country all season and he's kind of the emotional leader of the defense. Luckily we have plenty of quality depth behind him, but still sucks.

Damn. Tough loss. Good luck to the guy.

CFB Player Rank: The top 25 players at midseason - ESPN

4685248.png?w=65&h=90&scale=crop&background=0xcccccc&transparent=true

11. David Bailey
LB, Texas Tech, Senior
2025 notable stats: 11 solo tackles, 8.5 sacks, 2 FF
2025 preseason ranking: 57

Bailey was one of the most highly-touted players in the transfer portal after recording eight tackles for loss and seven sacks for Stanford last year. He already has 9.5 TFL and 8.5 sacks, respectively, in half a season in Lubbock. The Red Raiders are in the driver's seat for a spot in the Big 12 Championship because of a transformed defense, and for as good as Jacob Rodriguez, Romello Height and others have been, Bailey's explosive pass rushing has played a massive role in the turnaround. -- Connelly

2. Jacob Rodriguez
LB, Texas Tech, Senior
2025 notable stats: 21 solo tackles, 2 FF, 3 PD
2025 preseason ranking: 92

If Rueben Bain Jr. has been the best defensive player in the sport, then Rodriguez is right on his heels. The Red Raiders boast the stingiest run defense in the country -- allowing only 62.5 rushing yards per game -- and Rodriguez is right at the center of it all. The senior has made his impact felt in the ground game and the air game, forcing multiple fumbles, deflecting passes and snatching multiple interceptions. It's safe to say opposing offenses hate to see him coming. -- Uggetti

Damn, Bailey. 8.5 sacks in 6 games is damn good. Well deserved honor.

The fans need to stop throwing fucking tortillas

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/texas-tech-six-figure-fine-penalty-big-12-fans-tortilla-tradition/

on a happy note since like 2/3 of my family went to Tech this is legit the happiest I’ve seen them about football since the Leach days. Hope they can win the conference. It would be nice for them if Game Day went to Lubbock.

A bunch of 50+ year old men whining about not being able to throw tortillas onto a football field perfectly sums up Tech's fan base. They've always been douches because they think the world is somehow against them.

People should relax and let Tech fans do their thing. It’s a harmless college tradition.

The issue isn't that they do it, it's that they do it throughout the entire game, not just at the start and end. Tech fans have also been accused of throwing batteries and beer bottles onto the field for multiple decades now. They're a very hostile crowd for a visiting team to play in front of.

Those are most likely exaggerations. I’d like to see the tradition continue. I hope they aren’t bullied in to discontinuing it.

They can do it just not when the fucking game is being played.

But do they really throw them throughout the game? I’ve been to plenty UT-Tech games in Lubbock including the infamous 2008 game and I know tortillas were not thrown during that or any other game I’ve attended.

I’m pretty sure that all the rule required. But now that there’s attention to it they’ll do it all game, because again, everyone has to be an asshole these days.

Car batteries on Grandma...

and knives now.

my opinion on the tortillas is that it should only be for the opening kickoff.

I haven't attended any games yet this year but I can say for a fact that during the most recent prior seasons they were throwing puppies

(with *possible* home playoff games on the horizon, this tortilla nonsense has turned into a very big deal - $100k fine per incident!!)
