I’m just so confused. Arch is all or nothing. It’s big plays or negative. Ewers it was 5-10 yards and no big plays. Like how is having the polar opposite possible lol.

It's not, because everything you just said was hyperbole about both guys.

did you watch the ohio state game?  a qb that could compete a 5 yard pass would have won us that game.  caldwell has proven he can

Did you watch today, were we lost both lines of scrimmage

Anyone know what happened to Neto? Guy went from preseason starter to being replaced by Stohl and finally a true freshman Brooks. The LG position was responsible for multiple sacks, false starts, pressures, and tackles behind the LOS today. What a fucking mess.

Apparently he’s a hot head and they are afraid he will show it in the game, rack up all these penalties.

Because the o line as is, is so good at not getting penalized.

Apparently he fucked Flood's wife.

He tries to go for the long ball way too much and needs to learn to take the shorter route. He is better though. He looked totally lost early in the year, so hopefully some good tweaking will get better performances.

Also, not having to dodge a 300 pound defender every play would help.

I don’t know what’s up with Arch, but something doesn’t look right with his throws. He’s slow processing.

The TD to Weisner could have been thrown much earlier. No reason to hold the ball that long.

He’s too in love with the home run ball and over looks open receivers underneath. Doesn’t have a good feel for hot routes on blitzes.

All this stuff is somewhat expected for a young QB with a terrible OL, but he’s been in the system long enough that I would think he would be quite a bit further along. He will get better but just not to the level most of us thought, imo.

You’re wasting time with these spares.

This is really funny because the only reason we're 3-2, is that we've played against a bunch of spares.

that’s a dumb tweet. i’ve seen 1,000 worse int’s. this guy’s big gripe is that the ball was thrown hard? of all the baffling things about arch manning this season, that throw isn’t one of them.

We will need to find out Mateer in the offseason

if arch was a 4 star with a different last name then none of you would be throwing in the towel on him with half a season’s worth of starts under his belt. you got your hopes up, it hasn’t gone the way you thought it would, so now you’ve concluded that arch is a lost cause and it’s time to move on. get a grip. he showed a lot of good things in the second half today, and he still has a ton of room *and capability* to grow. half of this thread would have moved on form VY and just gone with chance mock. shit is dumb.

if he was a 4 star no name, he would have been in a QB battle to earn the right to start right now vs Caldwell

you believe that sark is knowingly starting an inferior qb because of his recruiting ranking and family name?

Wait, didn’t you hate Quinn? And you’re giving this garbage a pass?

Arch apologists are wayyy worse than Quinn apologists.

I saw VY go through growing pains. It wasn’t half a season of shit.

Arch may become a serviceable QB. But it isn't going to be this year. And not on this team.

I guess I just don't get the apologist arguments here. He has been touted as the second coming, the Heisman favorite and leading the preseason number 1 Texas Longhorns and now we have to treat him like a toddler who is learning how to walk?

1.no, i did not hate quinn, i vehemently disagreed with y’all’s insane declarations of his greatness

2.who is giving arch a pass? saying that we shouldn’t completely give up on him after 7 starts is giving him a pass? yeah i don’t think so.

3. “arch apologists” have said things like, “arch improved in the second half, and i like that he stands tall in the pocket.” quinn’s fanboi’s were/are rabid and obsessive and and above all completely delusional about his abilities, performances, his place in UT history, where he would be drafted, etc. “arch apologists” are literally just like, “let’s not encourage him to transfer just yet.” you’re basically sitting here telling me that the guardian angels are wayyyy worse than ICE. ha. it’s a laughable take.

btw, we lose that game by 100 with QE as our starter. he’d have been sacked probably 12 times, assuming he didn’t get injured on the opening drive. arch did things in the pocket and under pressure today that quinn couldn’t do with 37 starts under his belt. we win the game today if we don’t have our worst o line performance in the last 15-16 years. arch still wasn’t great, but there are clear signs that he can develop into a really good qb.

a lot of y’all are desperate for a quinn supporters vs arch supporters war, and it’s childish and stupid. nobody here has given arch a pass. if you think not wanting to move on from him after today = giving him a pass then you’ve made my point about Team Quinn being a bunch of rabid zealots.

because a shit ton of longhorn fans literally did want to bench vince young for chance mock. hello.

oh yeah, this was soooooo hard to see coming: the QE zealots holding arch to a higher standard than they ever did QE, even though Arch is on a dog shit with team with an impossibly bad o line. i bet arch would really love to have bijan robinson, jonathan brooks, roschon johnson, xavier worthy, ad mitchell, matthew golden, jordan whittington, jt sanders, gunnar helm, kelvin banks, jake majors, an entire online that was a finalist for the joe moore award, etc, etc, etc.

please do not come in here acting as if arch and quinn are in remotely similar situations.

When VY was a junior? Uh huh.

VY had 18 starts under his belt when a sizable portion of our fan base wanted him  benched and moved to wr in favor of chance mock.

That’s simply not true Derka. He’s been bad even taking into account the weapons and OL.

even in the 2nd half when he started making plays he was still inconsistent.

Ewers wasn’t ever this inconsistent on simple short to medium throws.  Arch is short or high on more than half his throws.

Our RB averages. 1.36 yards a carry. For 15 yards.

15 yards....

15 yards....

And some of you are saying Arch and needs to be benched. Just amazing I applaud you.

sasha grey ass slap GIF

Just so damn stunning and perfect

15 yards....

Yes the OL sucks. The RBs and defense didn’t do their job.

AND neither did Arch. Not completely.  He played better in the 2nd half, and maybe he builds on it.  But he looked better in the 4th vs OSU and it didn’t get better.

so all this can be true.  Arch has not been good enough to have his job secured. That’s all most of us are saying.

No one cares and I'm sure you're embellishing anyway. Arch hasn't proven anything ever other than being a Manning. VY took some nobody school to the Texas state finals and then as a RS sophomore took texas to 11-1. Arch is a junior and already looks washed. He just doesn't have it. You can't come in as a junior who has sat two full seasons and look like this. O Line or not you should be leading the team and crushing it.

where was this energy when quinn had seven starts under his belt? quinn was just as ballyhooed as arch was, only unlike arch he showed up fat, unkempt, and out of football shape. and yet you guys swore until the bitter end that he was some UT legend who “led” Texas to back to back playoff appearances, despite the fact that he was surrounded by nfl talent that was out performing him on a weekly basis. for three years you not only didn’t want him benched, you swore he was awesome, despite all evidence to the contrary. why the impossibly long leash for quinn, but the rabid shit talking and dismissal of arch? i’d seriously love to know. it’s a fascinating turn of events.
