All this emphasis on making the jury has to be a financial motivation.  Do they get paid a bonus to be on the jury?  Is the resort life that good for a few days?  Lot of crying but then again, these younger folks tend to cry over all kinds of shit.

I’m sure financial plays a part but think narcissism is the main driver as it is with most this generation.0

That was a helluva "advantage" that Sol found.

Why are you putting advantage in quotes?

I can't find anything on the financial incentive of making the jury.  I do believe I saw that the payouts step up each time.  Perhaps there's, say, a $10 jump from the last one out to the first one in on the jury???  It could also just be that you've spend a couple of weeks suffering, playing, and getting to know people.  You might really want to have a hand in selecting the ultimate winner.

Advantage just seemed like an understatement to me.  It completely changed the game.

took out one of the major players last night.  their other choices were excellent also - sam or the rachel.   andy is one of the most interesting players in a while.  not sure what to make of him.  he was so in his own head he walked by 10-20 bamboo tubes without seeing them.  to be aware enough to know he was being used by sierra and sam was wise though.

From my sofa, Sierra had very little power after the merge, but it's always a good idea to break up couples.

my bottom four - little to no shot:  andy, teeny, sue, gabe.

Sue is far and away the weakest player thus far, and the only one I can't see winning it all.  She is a good bet to make the final 3 for that reason.  Andy is a hard read because of his personality, but he is playing, and I hope he keeps his demons at bay so it continues.  Gabe is someone who needs to make some things happen, but I need convincing that he is capable of doing that.  Teeny is not in my bottom four, but if she belongs there, it's only because this is the deepest season of strong players that I have ever seen.

For me, Rachel, Caroline, and Genevieve are at the top, with Sol and Teeny not far behind.  My worry for Sol is that he clearly has a thing for Rachel, and it may impact his game.

Kyle is a challenge whore, but it's not clear whether he has a social game.  We likely won't have the chance to find out, as he is probably gone if he ever loses an immunity challenge.  In that scenario, he could end up being a swing vote for someone in an "anything to stay in the game" type of deal.

Sam is an unknown quantity at this point.  Does he have any game without Sierra calling the shots?  Time will tell.  I would love to see Andy use him as a number until it no longer suits him.

Meant to type $10k.

Just caught up.  Sorry to see a hottie go.  Kind of pulling for Rachel at this point.  Where the hell did they find a hillbilly (Kyle) vegan?

Solid episode.  Rachel is on a hot streak right now.  Sol saves her, cheeseburger in the auction and gets an immunity idol to boot.  Nice work, girl keep it up.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Damn them for getting rid of the best eye candy.

Rooting for Kyle to win the whole thing.

she came very close to winning immunity in the challenge too. still too much of a target on her back though.  for some reason they others seemed to be threatened by them.

kyle seems like a good dude, so would love this, but nice guys dont usually win this.  kind of reminds me of hunter from last season.   i'm betting on genevieve although she might be strategizing a little too hard.  maybe take a backseat and let someone else orchestrate the next few votes.

I like Caroline to take out Genevieve at some point, but we'll see if they both are still in the game after Rachel uses her idol.

Kyle is gonna have to go on an Ozzy like immunity run to stay in the game.

Genevieve after Teeny tells her people are targeting Sol

Fake Surprised Season 8 GIF by Friends

Why the hell wouldn't they get rid of Kyle when he didn't have immunity?
Dumbasses.

Sad to see Sol go. Seemingly one of the most chill human beings ever cast on the show.

To me, there are two clear season-long narratives being hammered:
1) Genevieve pulling the strings behind the scenes
2) The Andy transformation

Obviously a lot can change between now and the end (don’t think I would have picked Kenzie as the winner at this point a season ago) but as of now, these are the two plot points that I’ll be monitoring for a potential winner.

I feel like this cast really only cares about making big moves instead of taking out the real threats.

Sue is terrifying. I have to look away every time they show her.

Sierra cleaned up well for the jury

I approve of the randomness of how the challenge went.  Splitting 'em up, possible vote loss, etc.

You couldn't tell she was a smokeshow?

I wasn't surprised by it.  Just an observation.

I think Genevieve needs Kyle's vote a bit longer before she will feel in control.  Of course, with this group of players, she will never truly be in control.  Her target is getting quite large.  I think both Caroline and Rachel are content to hide behind her for now, but it should be fun when she comes for one of them.

What surprised me the most was that the vote was unanimous.  Were Teeny and Sam acting, or were they convinced to change votes at tribal?  That answer impacts how I feel about their gameplay.  If Sam was truly pitching Sue as some big game changing move, then he is exactly who I thought he was.

Would anything have been different if Sol had sat with his peeps at tribal instead of being isolated at the opposite end?

I'm really enjoying this season.

leaders: genevieve, kyle, sam, rachel

bottom: sue, teeny

in between: andy, caroline

does anyone have an idol?  where are they all?  seems like theyve been less of a factor this season than any.

Rachel? Been a couple episodes so not sure

Yep.  Rachel for sure.  She held off on playing it 2 weeks ago.  Was it Saul that found one at the reward meal?  I don't recall it coming up after that point.

Doesn’t the old lady have one (when she bused the jar with the red paint)?

Yeah, kind of weird how little idol talk there is.

4 hours ago, UncleSonny said:

Yes.  Sue and Rachel both have immunity idols.  No other advantages are currently in play.

I can still see anyone winning except Sue.  The most likely scenario is that only one (at most) of Genevieve, Caroline, Kyle, and Rachel will make it to the end.

Genevieve and Kyle have the toughest paths to winning, as they are the biggest targets.  Kyle's odds just got a little better, as Gabe was one of the better challenge competitors.

Caroline and Rachel both have the game to win if they can survive Genevieve and each other.  Rachel has the advantage of having an idol, but obviously she will need to play it at the optimal time.

For Andy, Sam, or Teeny to win, Genevieve, Caroline, Kyle, and Rachel will all need to be gone.  If that happens, then whoever did the most to engineer that will be the likely winner.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to look at Sue the rest of the way, as she is a lock to make final tribal.

That montage of her talking shit about Kyle was brutal.  Looking at her shitty botox lips that long was like staring into the sun.

After having to endure an hour and twenty minutes of Sue in HD/4K, I was rewarded with a wet Sierra.

Could she at least wash her plastic ass face off?  She's dirtier than a homeless person.

Edited by kevwun

The sad part is the Sue genuinely thinks she looks good.  I'd like to see what she would look like if she hadn't had all of that work done.  I suspect it would be better, or at least not cringe-inducing.

IMO, wrong person went home.   I would expect to ______ back on a future episode somewhere down the line.

Kyle

I'm a little surprised that there wasn't more effort to get rid of Genevieve, but Kyle was the easy vote.  It also keeps Sue happy, which is especially important for Caroline's game.

I hope so, but any current alliances are out of convenience more than loyalty, and can easily be blown up to further one's game.  Even if Caroline, Rachel, and Sue stick together for another week, I could see Genevieve easily convincing Sam, Andy, and Teeny that now is the time to make a big move.  She would be right, so it could be an easy sell.
